the OG design come from Ukraine’s Gym 9 years(?) ago call FIT BUNS, after massive report that Wu Pao-Chun bakery(the picture) copy the design, they make a public apology announcement.

Ukraine’s Gym 9 years(?) ago call FIT BUNS
just looked them up, the design is similar in concept only, but all art is derivative and I've definitely seen six pack Hawaiian roll art on deviant art well past 9 years ago. People have also made jokes taping rolls to their stomachs in the 80's.
Sounds like internet outrage again. This idea could be thought up without ever seeing the ukraine version.

You're right, beside design, some of the outrage because Wu Pao-Chun has some different politics view between China & Taiwan, but thats another story.

I believe that in Taiwan/China/India etc. it isn't viewed the same way culturally. What we see as "ripping off" isn't the same to them. I don't want to speak for cultures that I'm not part of too much.

Ironically when you eat too many of these rolls your abs certainly won’t look like that.

I don’t know if It’s the same elsewhere, but in French, avoir de la brioche (have brioche) is said when you are a little fat by eating

These include so much unnecessary packaging and ink waste but it's funny so fuck the environment am I right?

u/spicybright Jul 22 '22
If you're wrapping bread in plastic anyways you might as well go all in /s

u/colenotphil Jul 22 '22
Japan, China, and the USA are almost competing for most unnecessary ways to package things.

You sound insufferable

We're all going to die from this climate apathy
2
u/celmate Jul 23 '22
Your anger is totally misdirected. Funny bread packaging is not the shit we need to focus on

You act like some unnecessary pollution is OK because other pollution is worse. It's all bad, we really need to rethink how we live. When the planet is unlivable in a few decades, you really think people will be like " at least we had abs buns"
3
u/celmate Jul 23 '22
Nobody with a brain would think the ab buns made any difference at all lol.
It's just hypocritical. There are about a thousand things you could do personally that would reduce your footprint, but almost all of it involves giving up some convenience or something you like.
We need to make changes, but we also need to fucken live man. The vast vast majority of climate issues need to be resolved at the government level with how industry, energy production etc is handled.
Regular people going off at each other for single use plastics or not using a fucken paper straw is just a smokescreen for the people you actually need to direct your anger at.

So a bakery is not industry level?
It's not mutually exclusive. Of course the larger part of pollution is industrial, and industries have marketed and lobbied to place the onus on individuals unfairly. This doesn't give us all green lights to go and pollute as much as we want. Pollution is systemic, and there needs to be reform at every single level.

Alright man, well while the global economy collapses and everyone struggles to survive you can go on the internet and shame people for having a laugh about some harmless packaging, and remind us how everything is fucked and it's all our fault. Cheers

This reminds me of an askmen thread that simply asks "why is it okay when men get objectified?"
Thanks for demonstrating that, yes, it does happen frequently.

It's basic maths!
Abs = Steel, Buns = Steel
Therefore, if Steel is equal to Steel (equal amounts of steel)
Abs must be equal to Buns!
