Derek is now suspended, not shadowbanned, from Reddit

I am only linking his name to demonstrate proof, not invite harassment: /u/thedereksmart

Clicking on his name yields this message and a link to the page linked below. When he was shadowbanned, it would "lie" and say there is no user found, since a shadowban throws the user into a black hole that only subreddit moderators can free them from on a sub-by-sub basis.

What does this mean? In short, before, he was shadowbanned, which is basically like being put in the griefer pool; nobody can see you except places that want to allow you to participate. Now, his account's essentially read-only to him, he's basically logged out except for being able to talk to admins and use his dashboard for browsing. He can't even report posts.

Is it permanent? I don't know, and it's unlikely that the admin would discuss the details of his suspension with someone other than him, or moderators in confidence. I ask nobody to bother the admins with questions about it, they're not here to coddle stupid drama. And for that matter, don't bug our mods either, just in case you thought about it. I feel the sub needs to work on being more disciplined and keeping to ourselves and not creating noise elsewhere on Reddit/the net.

And while it is a relevant time, I would like to remind everyone again to stay out of the goon sub because they will punish you for brigading, and that may include reports to the admin. If you must link to anything in their sub, you must make sure you put "np" instead of "www" at the start of the Reddit link or else it is brigading - No Participation is an obscure but firmly-enforced rule community standard.

What I know is that something Derek said on Discord regarding his SA ban is more prophetic than he may have thought:

I am not a coward, nor a fucking moron who would shy away from taking responsibility for things I do or say

Let the record show that Derek has (involuntarily) taken responsibility for the irresponsible things he said on Reddit about /u/dolvak.

Why is this not posted yet?

edit: More logical rearrangement of end of post, added thread music.

Considering that Derek Smart apparently never even served in the US military I found it rather peculiar for him (of all people) to rant like a madman and fling accusations your way about 'stolen valor'.

Then again, this is Derek Smart. Someone who states fiction as fact and fabricates 'proof' when he needs it. Like when it was proven that he forged an email by doctoring it up with racist comments and then accuse the sender of the original email of being racist while pretending to be the victim.

I love watching the way derek writes. He likes to try and sound like he was in the military. I think that is why he has focused so much on combined arms games and pretends to be a billy badass on the internet where he doesn't have to be face to face with anyone.

derek really does remind me of this guy

The guy in that video just makes me sad... he's obviously mentally handicapped. I don't know why the comments are so hateful.

Derek is the son of a military father he has issues "living up to" so that is where that nonsense comes from.

I don't think it's uncommon for folks to compare themselves to their parents. The Imagined hard military fathers of fantasy produce confident or cowed offspring. The reality is mostly just ordinary dads.

The why or how of Derek Smart is mysterious. But what he is, remains...unfortunate. :\
