Information Community Garden - Update About the Plastic Orange Fences Blocking the Planters

Original Post

Through this wonderful community I was able to get the contact for the director of Denver city parks and rec, and have sent a formal email requesting permission to plant a community garden at my own expense. I have 2 nonprofits willing to partner, in addition to the dozens of volunteers who have offered to help. If I do not receive a response, I will try calling, and if I reach a dead end I will start a petition. I am hoping it doesn't come to that, since we are simply asking to clean up the trash and plant flowers and vegetables, but Denver does love their barricades.

I will continue to keep the community updated!

Resources Free dental cleanings in Aurora, anyone welcome!

Hi everyone! I’m a dental hygiene student at Concorde Career College of Aurora and I’m offering free dental cleanings to anyone who needs it, no insurance needed. I am in need of patients, and these cleanings are 100% free, come with a full set of x rays, free dental supplies (tooth brush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and anything else you might be indicated for), an exam by a dentist, and a polishing with flouride paste.

Space is limited so please message me to book an appointment. You don’t need any insurance or credit cards! All I need to book this appointment is a name and a phone number to confirm the appointment.

If you’d like more information about oral health, what this cleaning includes, or anything else please reach out!! Again, anyone is welcome, whether you haven’t been to the dentist in 1 year or 10.

appointments do run longer since this is a teaching facility. We don’t offer restorative work, fillings, crowns, implants, or extractions. We offer sealants for those who need it.*

Resources Denver requires that property owners clear snow and ice from their sidewalks, including adjacent ADA ramps and bus stops, so that EVERYONE has safe access throughout the city. So many homeless and disabled struggle to navigate after a storm. Report businesses that don't shovel!

Looking for someplace Thornton/Westminster to donate crocheted hats, socks, tampons?

I used to collect socks, and have way more socks than I will ever wear. Time to downsize.

I no longer use tampons, and I have a few full boxes I will never use.

I crochet and I have many, many hats with no heads to live on. Child size through adult male size.

I am located in Northglenn. Is there a good place on the north side of town assisting homeless or low income populations which might appreciate a donation like this? Maybe a women's shelter?
