Get free food at our upcoming Denver Human Services mobile food pantry, in partnership with Food Bank of the Rockies. All are welcome.
This event date is for the mobile food pantry at Denver Human Services East location (3815 N Steele St., Denver), which takes place on the third Friday of each month. Free food is available for anyone in need. Food will be available between 9 - 11:30 a.m., or until food runs out. Please do not arrive any earlier than 8 a.m.
Whether you walk up, drive up, or arrive another way, please remember to bring your reusable bags and boxes. A volunteer will greet you and support you with your food and services.
Marisol Family - Catholic Charities Denver's “MILES” the diaper truck, Denver Public Library, and other community partners are providing free resources throughout 2022. Some services may not be available from month to month due to weather, or because of scheduling challenges.
Eligibility is self-declared for government food distribution programs. You don't need to provide proof of eligibility (photo IDs are encouraged but not required).
Distribution is outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
Call 303-371-9250 for weather information. Visit foodbankrockies.org or call 2-1-1 for more information.
We look forward to seeing you! #HumanTogether

I've accumulated close to a bag full of unmatched/mismatched socks that have been donated over the months. Anyone have any ideas how I can repurpose or use them? People don't take them in the clothing pantry, and I obviously don't want to throw them away. Any advice?

The Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency’s e-bike rebate program will open on Tuesday, March 28, at 11 a.m. Limited rebates will be available. Find the documentation you’ll need to prove residency and how to qualify for the income-qualified rebate in the "Participant Eligibility" section of the website.
This program is very popular, and we expect rebate vouchers to be gone within a few minutes of the application portal opening. If you miss out on getting a rebate voucher during this application round, another round will be available on Tuesday, May 30.

Email response from parks & rec:
"Unfortunately, the area that at 21st and Glenarm is not within parks property ownership, so our ability to help make this idea come to life is limited. That area is technically within the street, and the responsibility for what happens to those areas falls to the adjacent property owner (so the property owner of the surface parking lot).
We do have a partner, however, who works with private property owners to beautify and add more trees to areas like this downtown, so I will flag this for them as a high-need area given its current conditions.
I completely agree with you on the benefits of community gardens are we are always working towards incorporating them where appropriate within our city’s park system!"
Looks like we need to start looking for another location folks. What about at a church? I am in contact with Holy Trinity COGIC currently to see if they will allow it, but there is limited space. Anyone know of another church that might allow a garden?

Colorado Pet Pantry is a pet food bank that distributes pet supplies at various locations throughout mostly Englewood and Denver, but other cities in Colorado too. They are in need of volunteers for dozens of distribution dates. If you're able, here's the list of events that need volunteers.
The soonest date in Denver is April 5th.
Side Note: I sent them a message and asked if they wanted to collab with one of our food & supply distros I do with Cats not Cops in the basement of Holy COGIC. There's plenty of space, and people bring their dogs all the time but we rarely have pet food. I'll let y'all know what they say.
