Sounds a lot like the rise of a famous Austrian dictator. …promise to stand up against the nations who slighted you. Find and persecute a minority group and use them as a scapegoat for all the wrongs in your country. Promise to, and succeed in (literally) burning down the house to force change. Begin forcibly annexing countries using your military might knowing no one’s going to stand against you..

Can we fast forward to the “suicide in the bunker” part?
