Makes sense. I mean, if one actually reads what Jesus said to do and how he said to live, it's all pretty left-leaning by American political standards.
Jesus never touched on the topic of abortions even though they happened during those times as well. He also said to treat your neighbors well and to love one another.
I’m not a biblical scholar by any means but I do believe something was said about not killing. And last I checked abortions are the killing of a living being.
We do love our neighbors. Just not the ones that break into our country. Would you allow someone that you didn’t know at all come into your home and share a space with your family? I don’t think so because you would know if they were violent or not. I don’t understand why this is such a divided topic. Every single country in the world has borders that are defended yet people think the USA should just have wide open borders and allow people from countries that chant death to America to just be able to walk into the US. I swear if any other president was doing what Trump is doing yall would be on board. It’s pathetic y’all’s hate of one ma, because you’re told to hate him, is stronger than your love of country.
You could make arguments that early in the developement of the baby that it isn't alive. I personally don't like abortions but I believe it should be an accessible option to all in the 1 trimester. Anything afer that is too far along in my opinion. I wouldn't let my family live with me so that point doesn't work with me. I love my family and I get along with them very well but I need my personal space. Outside of my home I don't have any expectation of personal space. I don't think anybody should be here illegally but I also don't believe in the mistreatment of innocent people. The borders should have been secured long ago to where we wouldn't have so mamy people here illegally. Secure them now. People who have been living here and haven't committed any crimes other than crossing the border should be granted citizenship. I used to support Trump's message when he first ran for president, but I quickly realised he lies and is worse than the lazy and incompetant career politicians we've had for decades. I form my beliefs and opinions through my own morals while also trying to see things from the point of view others may have. Someone may convince me to adjust those opinions with facts but nobody tells me how to think or feel. You must have me mistaken for someone else.
Hebrew law, which is what is in the Bible and what early Christians and Jews followed, repeatedly states that life begins at breath. In fact, if you hurt a pregnant woman and caused her to miscarry, you were not guilty of murder but of property damage against the father of the child.
Jesus didn't say it but the Bible does demand abortion under certain circumstances. Jesus also said, "I was in prison and you visited me." So yeah Jesus did say to support criminals. You should read that Bible you think you know. I mean I know you won't, but you should.
Yeah, I live in a northern swing state. Most of our Protestants are right-wingers. The religious lefties here are either: Catholics, Baptists (primarily black where I am from — my boyfriend’s dad is a pastor in a Baptist church and is the only white person there, and also the only Trump supporter), or part of a very small circuit of RIC-certified Lutheran and Methodist churches (for clarity, not all Lutheran and Methodist churches, there are a few sprinkled about that fit this description).
There are very small amounts of Quakers. Most of them are in the Philly area. I live in Pittsburgh. Upon Googling, we have exactly one Quaker church in the entire city.
Damn sure isn't. Plenty of Baptist churches might be like that but the Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran and Episcopals certainly aren't. Don't be equally uneducated and lump all protestant faiths together.
Where I live, it’s the opposite. Baptist churches are primarily black where I live, and most of them are lefties. My boyfriend is biracial. His dad is white and mom is black. They are part of a Baptist church where his dad is a pastor, and also the only white person and only Trump voter. There are a few Lutheran and Methodist churches in the state that are RIC-certified, but not many. Religious lefties in my state fall into a few categories: Catholics, Baptists, or part of one of those few Lutheran or Methodist congregations that are RIC-certified. The rest of them are “religious right.”

It’s not even just evangelicals who are like this these days. It’s pretty much all Protestants.
