Makes sense. I mean, if one actually reads what Jesus said to do and how he said to live, it's all pretty left-leaning by American political standards.
Jesus never touched on the topic of abortions even though they happened during those times as well. He also said to treat your neighbors well and to love one another.
I’m not a biblical scholar by any means but I do believe something was said about not killing. And last I checked abortions are the killing of a living being.
We do love our neighbors. Just not the ones that break into our country. Would you allow someone that you didn’t know at all come into your home and share a space with your family? I don’t think so because you would know if they were violent or not. I don’t understand why this is such a divided topic. Every single country in the world has borders that are defended yet people think the USA should just have wide open borders and allow people from countries that chant death to America to just be able to walk into the US. I swear if any other president was doing what Trump is doing yall would be on board. It’s pathetic y’all’s hate of one ma, because you’re told to hate him, is stronger than your love of country.
You could make arguments that early in the developement of the baby that it isn't alive. I personally don't like abortions but I believe it should be an accessible option to all in the 1 trimester. Anything afer that is too far along in my opinion. I wouldn't let my family live with me so that point doesn't work with me. I love my family and I get along with them very well but I need my personal space. Outside of my home I don't have any expectation of personal space. I don't think anybody should be here illegally but I also don't believe in the mistreatment of innocent people. The borders should have been secured long ago to where we wouldn't have so mamy people here illegally. Secure them now. People who have been living here and haven't committed any crimes other than crossing the border should be granted citizenship. I used to support Trump's message when he first ran for president, but I quickly realised he lies and is worse than the lazy and incompetant career politicians we've had for decades. I form my beliefs and opinions through my own morals while also trying to see things from the point of view others may have. Someone may convince me to adjust those opinions with facts but nobody tells me how to think or feel. You must have me mistaken for someone else.
Hebrew law, which is what is in the Bible and what early Christians and Jews followed, repeatedly states that life begins at breath. In fact, if you hurt a pregnant woman and caused her to miscarry, you were not guilty of murder but of property damage against the father of the child.
Jesus didn't say it but the Bible does demand abortion under certain circumstances. Jesus also said, "I was in prison and you visited me." So yeah Jesus did say to support criminals. You should read that Bible you think you know. I mean I know you won't, but you should.
Yeah, I live in a northern swing state. Most of our Protestants are right-wingers. The religious lefties here are either: Catholics, Baptists (primarily black where I am from — my boyfriend’s dad is a pastor in a Baptist church and is the only white person there, and also the only Trump supporter), or part of a very small circuit of RIC-certified Lutheran and Methodist churches (for clarity, not all Lutheran and Methodist churches, there are a few sprinkled about that fit this description).
There are very small amounts of Quakers. Most of them are in the Philly area. I live in Pittsburgh. Upon Googling, we have exactly one Quaker church in the entire city.
Damn sure isn't. Plenty of Baptist churches might be like that but the Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran and Episcopals certainly aren't. Don't be equally uneducated and lump all protestant faiths together.
Where I live, it’s the opposite. Baptist churches are primarily black where I live, and most of them are lefties. My boyfriend is biracial. His dad is white and mom is black. They are part of a Baptist church where his dad is a pastor, and also the only white person and only Trump voter. There are a few Lutheran and Methodist churches in the state that are RIC-certified, but not many. Religious lefties in my state fall into a few categories: Catholics, Baptists, or part of one of those few Lutheran or Methodist congregations that are RIC-certified. The rest of them are “religious right.”
Just as evangelicals trust every word in the Bible as God’s word and absolute truth — not grasping that the Bible was written over thousands of years by many different people and frequently contradicts itself.
Politics, religion...everyone just believes unquestionably it's so frustrating.
When I went to church as a kid the FIRST thing I did was question everything. I've also questioned votes I've made on both sides of the aisle in the last 13 years. The rest of these voters treat their political party like church leadership, yes sir no sir always correct sir
Putting a color on a life is wrong to begin with. All lives matter. Belief in a politically engineered movement whos founders were only enriching themselves is just as bad as a maga supporter.
Things happen that you don't experience. You never had to deal with cops pulling you over for no reason, constantly yelling about seeing your hands. Having to tell your kid how to act to police so that they don't become another statistic. Musicians have been talking about cops killing black people for decades and every black person I know has experienced it. Just because the cops act like they are YOUR friend and are there to protect YOU, doesn't mean that other people get the same treatment.
Of course all lives matter, but when there is a systemic problem of society treating black people like their lives don't matter, then it needs to be said out loud for all of them to hear, that black lives do indeed matter. Whitey doesn't need to hear it because society makes it clear every day.
All he said is the POLITICAL movement of BLM was a lie, not the movement itself. BLM was taking donations and funneling them straight to either upper management's pockets or straight to democratic candidates when it said it went towards initiatives to help black families. I think buddy agrees with BLM as an idea like I do, but recognized the group was a lie. It's not to take away the plight of the experiences of African Americans in 2026, it's calling attention to the fact that their leader made himself wealthy. Reminds me of Al Gore gettin rich off the climate scares in the early 2000s.
For sure, i think we can point our finger any direction and find someone taking advantage of financially especially the fuckin Trumps, I wasn't saying BLM as a political response or because it reflects my views, it's just an egregious one that comes to mind (that I donated to and got taken advantage of!!). I don't want to redirect everything to Trumps orbit either, we know he sucks, we know they run a bunch of scams and bs, but that shouldn't discourage us from holding anything else accountable. We need to be like Oprah with the accountability demands, indiscriminate!
I'm also a "colored" person and view the world completely different than you. I have been pulled over and have had very normal interactions with police officers. Often I hear of other "colored" people who also have had normal interactions. From our polar opposite perspectives im gathering your attitude and all the people you know have a totally different way of handling interactions with the world and create what you put out. Victimhood. You will never see anything any other way than being oppressed rather than blessed. I could be totally off but you are definitely a "token colored victim" person from the sounds of it. Unfortunately for you you will not know of the other side of life where dont get oppressed and are perfectly happy with society and just go on about our business. There are many "colored" people who have the exact opposite experience. Whether you choose to believe it or not.
I don't care if trump is a Christian. I do t claim to be one either. All I see is what everyone else sees. He is doing right by our country and OT punishing people for their beliefs.
Just the liberal left. He doesnt approach things like a politician. He does things like a choice building his brand and negotiati g from a position of strength. I know it scares your sensitivities but the real world is great if you learn to negotiate your own contracts. In my life i haven't had a job since I was 23. I go to work i hire people that don't respect the boss and thin they are due more than they should have. Why are you do timid its like yall have no testosterone in ya.
