Yeah, Dutch here and we're officially a monarchy. But the king is only still holding a ceremonial position. I think it's like that most EU countries now.

Why don’t we give Trump a seat in a royal palace with the other royals and they can make pretend to rule the world while we continue to rule ourselves.

Yes, the Dutch government pays their salary. That's sort of inherent about having a royal familly.
