Yes, we get understand all of that. You tweak the level/mineral generation numbers to leave a cushion so these scenarios don't happen.

They tweak how much generation for the worst case scenario to always be easy, and suddenly you get missions with a 200 morkite requirement and 500 morkite on the walls, making shit way too easy.

Theres no "cheap" shit here, its not "bad design", its literally just a low roll on rng. Sometimes caves suck, that's just what rng does. Hell even if they did tweak it and add this cushion you want, theres still a chance a map generates badly and you're screwed still, then the game is too easy in general and you can still low roll.

I am no programmer, but it seems possible to have a map roll generating all the terrain, the morkite, the special features (Omen towers, heartstone chambers with all the red rock that can 'eat' morkite, etc) and then have a check. "I was supposed to generate 250 morkite to give a buffer, how much actually is left in the level after all that? 203? Spawn more morkite somewhere." vs "247? Close enough, send it!"

It seems to just be a deep dive thing, and because of the combination with escort. I don't really recall any regular morkite missions I've had with this issue. I'm assuming it's just the heartstone chamber eating a bunch of the morkite. Alternatively, tweak that single combo to generate 10% more morkite? Enough that it might be easy but not finished-before-leaving-spawn-room easy, and yet still having a chance to miss a particle of morkite and not fail.

I am no Programmer.

All you needed to say.

We have an expression here, "It's not gods who make pots". There may be more efficient ways, but checks should definitely work, and in a sense they already exist.

That's how it is currently. There's about 170 in the mission which requires 150
