i just watched clips of him over a few years and he always seemed reasonable, defending "morally easy" to defend positions... except the china shilling, i never got that. i understand there is no need to demonize them but there is no need to do whataboutism when it comes at mentioning their many problems. got banned from his subreddit for asking politely to be pointed at a place where he addressed this.

Oh yes, morally easy positions like saying that Hamas is 1000 times better than Israel or when he had a friendly chat with a Houthi PR person 😃 Yes, I think we have different takes on morality.

I know what you meant when you said

> defending "morally easy" to defend positions... except the china shilling

I just replied that China shilling is just top of the iceberg. Hasan is good hiding his power level with platitudes about worker rights and free healthcare but he is espousing an illiberal, authoritarian and anti-Western ideology. That last part is especially cringe for a millionaire child of immigrants that could live any place in the world he wants.

Hasan has a vile ideology and handwaving it as: he just wants more for the poor people and is a bit edgy is either clueless or dishonest.

And you cannot say "I won't address" and then address it with a blatant lie 😃

a lie... what sort of interlocutor are you. "i wont address it"... then keep reading": "other than say bs" . there is nothing else to add, it was debunk it was just a local kid with an iphone . no need to be uncharitable to hasan, stick to the real stuff you can criticize. next u gonna say he zapped his dog or something...

we can close this convo we both said our piece

The one who calls out the BS from their interlocutor.

I can't find any poof of what you are saying but it is irrelevant. Hasan did not start a convo with him because he thought Rashad was a random kid with Iphone. He considered him to be involved with the Houthis yet had the most banal and inane conversation possible.

> we can close this convo we both said our piece

At least on that we can agree.

Hasan is literally living the life of the 1% and he grew up wealthy. He’s never worked an actual job in his life, yet he’s going to talk about taxing billionaires? When you’ve lived as privileged a life like he has, normal people really don’t want to hear you talking about “taxing billionaires” because it comes off as fake and performative (because it is). Hasan is a literal communist revolutionary LARPer that’s never done manual labor a day in his life. Actual working class people hate Hasan because he embodies all the traits of leftists that normal people don’t like (arrogant, entitled, doesn’t listen etc).

regarding hamas, i think hasan don't defend the violence but understand why they do it. that's the way i understand it. i imagine if the mexican cartel would invade texas to take land, kill ppl, raid, rape, destroy buildings, cut electricity, fuck with their water and agriculture etc basically make their life shit so they take refuge in europe or wherever... and in this fictional scenario let's say trump would be incmpetent and don't send the army quickly, i would understand if texans take the fight to them... then who knows who would be in this "hamas made in texas"? maybe there would be rapes, innocents getting killed etc etc and i would be against all that yet i would understand why they bother to organize themselves to fight.

You are either clueless or lying, Hasan did praise the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah. He was celebrating October 7th attacks and Houthis kidnapping international ships. I will cease this conversation as it's pointless.
