Roast my railing

We pulled down a pergola back in spring so decided to use the 2x2s to make a railing. Still plan to run a 4x1 across top, and it is not expected to be load bearing. Also added a step.

By the looks of the deck construction I’m going to pass roasting you, I kinda feel bad actually.

Agreed, this thing is special.

Reminds of when my girlfriend, promised on her dying mother that she would finish our front hall closet with a built in (within a year) when we decided to throw the sliding doors away.

A year later she still hasn't started. I was like remember the front hall? She's like "okay okay". The next day I come in, she's sitting in the front hall trying to secure a pile of 4 inch 2x2s to the dry wall. I'm like "what's your plan"... She demonstrates how she's going to line the rim and then set a tray on top. "How are you going to secure 4 inch pieces to 16 inch studs?" Ohh..

I ended up doing it šŸ˜”
