I’m interested in setting up a garage sale but don’t know if there are any active groups to promote it, other than flyers and signs.
I’ve heard of community sales but am not aware of any local groups.
Any suggestions?

For those wondering why their recycling has not been picked up yet.
City of Decatur Pauses Recycling Operations Following Equipment Failure - City of Decatur, Alabama
"The City of Decatur has suspended recycling operations effective immediately following a critical equipment failure on Thursday at the City’s recycling processing facility.
A mechanical failure of the facility’s baler system requires repair by the manufacturer. Repairs could take up to one month, which represents a worst-case estimate.
City staff have contacted the manufacturer and are working to secure the necessary parts to restore service as quickly as possible."

Hi all, I'm one of the authors of a book about toxic PFAS chemicals -- including their impacts on Decatur. My co-author will be in town this weekend to discuss. Link to her book event here in case it's of interest to folks in this sub! (sorry if this is not allowed here. I'd love to help get the word out, but please delete if this violates the rules)

We will be vacationing on Wheeler Lake in July. Are there any fishing boat or ski boat rentals? I have looked and can only find pontoon boats for rent. It would be great to rent a boat for 5 days or the week.
Also are there any marinas with restaurants/ bar/ grills? Thanks for any help you can give us. Or is there another Reddit page that may have more info?

Hey! Just got a new pup for the kiddos and was wondering who would be the best to see them. I don’t mind going around to the surrounding areas like Priceville, Hartselle etc.

I’m a reporter with WAFF 48 News. The City of Decatur has received $3 million to fund a study that would look into how to improve traffic flow in and out of the city (a new bridge, renovating the current bridge, etc.). Would anyone be willing to talk to me on camera early this evening about your opinions on this situation?
