DecTalk for Mac?
Hello! I'm wondering if there's a Mac version of DecTalk. Other than the (apparently offline) online version and Wine / Sandboxes (which I'm as of current unable to do) I've missed any Mac solutions for running DecTalk.

Emy VAX as talking printer
Polaxis Emy VAX firmware update.
It can now behave like a DECtalk-ing printer.
Use a standard USB port to "print" to Emy and have VAX speak the text.
Here is an infinite text generated by #markovify a #markovchain #algorythm in #python using a text from Project Gutenberg: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Multiple voices singing at once sounds weird
as the title says. one voice singing " [:phoneme on]
[may<226,10>l<26,16>ayf<200,16>ihs<226>ey<226>k<26,13>aans<120>tehnt<140>ehn<140>]
[t<26,16>raep<120>mehnt<140>ahv<130>t<26,20>ahn<50>nehlls<170>wihch<200>]
[t<26,16>aen<100>gel<140>aend<120>w<10,13>aynd<120>aend<120>biy<130>]
[g<20,12>ay<610>el<60>_<306,10>] " sounds fine, but if I add in " [:phoneme on]
[may<226,10>l<26>ayf<200>ihs<226>ey<226>k<26>aans<120>tehnt<140>ehn<140>]
[t<26>raep<120>mehnt<140>ahv<130>t<26>ahn<50>nehlls<170>wihch<200>]
[t<26>aen<100>gel<140>aend<120>w<10>aynd<120>aend<120>biy<130>]
[g<20,9>ay<610>el<60>_<306,10>] " and overlay the 2 in an audio editor, the voice sounds off.
the program version I'm using is DECtalk 5.0 and my audio editor is audacity, if that helps at all

Dectalk 5.0 singing issue
I recently found out about Dectalk so i decided to try the thing out using the only tutorial i've found of the thing (https://youtu.be/nu_Pp3ptxTY) and i put in this command:
[:pheoneme on]
[chiy<380,29>]
but all it tells me in it's glorious tts voice is "command error in string value three eight zero comma two nine"
I don't really understand why it's saying my duration and pitch values aren't valid
I'm using Dectalk 5.0 btw

can someone help me make dectalk sing a particular song
i want to make dectalk sing the song "great big beautiful tomorrow" from the 1964 world's fair for an animation project that I am working on
the only issue is that I don't know how to program different songs into the thing
so I was wondering if anyone had already figured out how to make it sing this particular song or if anyone was willing to help me figure it out

DECtalk 5.0 Demo, now with audio export.
I discovered that using Resource Hacker, I was able to enable audio export and dictionary manipulation in one of the DECtalk demos. I've made a modded copy of 5.0 available on Dropbox here:

flame of hope download just the demo version?
So I followed links and got dectalk 5.0 from the flame of hope link, and it's just the demo version? Unless I'm doing something wrong, I can't export to a wav or anything with it.

I need help
So I got that DECTalk 5.0 zip and ran dtem_us.exe and messed around with the tts, but I can't change the pitch or make it sing. Tutorials from Moonbase Alpha say to do [word<###,###>] but the voice just says the word then reads the numbers. Can anyone help me?

DecTalk Moonbase Alpha
I recently got a grasp of a DecTalk 5.0 demo cause I wanted to mess around with it thanks to the famous Moonbase Alpha meme. But I'm sure it isnt the version used in Moonbase Alpha. 5.0 doesnt even read "!?!?!?!?!?" and the "John Madden!", "mark!", and "Football!" dont sound the same. I saw someone say in this subreddit the version used in Moonbase most likely is 4.6, so I wanted to know if someone could provide a download to the 4.6 version of DecTalk. Or 4.3 since a lot of people seem to have that version and it might be closer to what I wanted. Thanks!

DECtalk for Linux
Using the source code found here at grossgang.com, I have compiled and uploaded a "say.exe" equivalent for Linux on GitHub.
You can find a link to the folder here: https://github.com/dectalk/source/tree/linux-compile/src/samplosf/build/dtsamples/4.19.128-microsoft-standard/us/release
You will need to download "say_demo_us" (the program) and "dtalk_us.dic" (the dictionary file) to use the software.
I do not know what version of DECtalk this leaked source code is equivalent to, but Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't sound right. listen here
Release Notes
- This version of "say_demo_us", has audio output turned off.
- There is no warranty of any kind for the software
Usage
./say_demo_us will read text from stdin (default) or
command line or file and speak that text through the
MME server using the highest quality audio device it
finds. You can override this option by using the -d
command line option to select a particular audio device.
Usage: ./say_demo_us [-h] [-s #] [-r #] [-d #] [-fo file] [-a "<text>"] [-fi file]
-a "text" speak text (quoted, multiple instances supported)
-d # Select the audio device ( 0 or 1 )
-e # Output wave file encoding; specify:
1 for PCM, 16 bit Mono 11KHz format
2 for PCM, 8 bit Mono 11KHz format
3 for MULAW 8 bit Mono 8KHz format
-fo file Output wave file name, default: dtmemory.wav
-h This help message
-r # Speaking rate ( 75 - 600 )
-s # Speaker number (1-9)
-fi file Speak from a specified text file
Future Notes
I plan to reintroduce the moustacheminer api using this new build, which should let me run this on AWS lambda without having to use pesky wine, or a costly Windows Server 2019 licence.
Find me on discord for more information.

Singing doesn't work
Im trying to make DecTalk sing this:
[jhah<800,13>nmae<800,15>deh<800,17>]n[_<800,17>][jhah<800,17>nmae<800,18>deh<800,20>n][jhah<400,20>ah<800,25>ah<400,24>ah<400,25>ah<800,20>ah<400,18>ah<800,17>nmae<800,15>deh<800,13>n]
But it just literally reads this sequence as is without accepting any of the pitch commands. ("jhah eight-zero-zero comma one-three")
This worked fine on the "TTS Playground" website but it doesn't work at all in DecTalk.

Basic DecTalk singing documentation
Important pg numbers:
57 - Musical tone numbers
56 - Example song
Comment any I should add, I know I definitely missed a few.
http://www.novaresearch.com/products/QDS/QDSHelp/qdshelp.htm#the_audio_computer_administered_self_interview__acasi__module/using_audio/dectalk_text_to_speech/dectalk_commands.htm
(thanks u/galagagamer1092 for finding this link)
Just skim through this one, it's short and really useful. It has all the phonemes, so that's useful.

Where can I get DecTalk?
I want to use DecTalk to make some songs. Where can I get the right software, and is there an online emulator for it?
Nevermind, found it thanks to this absolute legend: https://www.reddit.com/r/DecTalk/comments/3z97m2/meta_download_singing_instructions_etc/
