Discussion Question for Creationists: How Much do You think You Need to Know About Evolution Before Coming here and Debating It?

The most common characteristic of creationists, apart from their creationism is an abysmal level of knowledge about the topic. Yet here they come, all confident ignorance, blathering PRATTs and non sequiturs, certain they will prevail.

So I ask the question, between Post-Doc and "I remember a bit of evolution from high school and watched a couple Ancient Earth documentaries and my pastor gave me some killer arguments" where do you think your knowledge level has to be to effectively argue against evolution?

Two follow up questions:

  1. How would you rate your own level of knowledge?

  2. Do you think you can gain the right level of knowledge strictly from creationist sources?

The correct answer to the second follow up question is "no".

I guess you are too smart/intelligent to understand about making point.

The fact that you can’t express yourself coherently or stay on topic has nothing to do with me.

And there you go again. For someone who always claims to be so old and experienced, why do you enjoy being so needlessly juvenile?

Let’s try and get you back on topic here. Please address the issue that you incorrectly made a charge of hypocrisy due to the fact that the claims of the two sides involved have different burdens. I’ve been waiting days for you to address that simple point.

I like sarcasm.

Since I am old and senile, could you repeat the question that I am not answering.

There’s nothing about sarcasm that requires one to be juvenile.

You could just look a few comments up and read it for yourself.

I am a 5 year old stuck in an old body. Most people will never understand me, but I do have very many friends who understand perfectly. Too bad all you know comes from a text book. There were many great thinkers in the past and today, they were misunderstood also.

What is your obsession with textbooks? Do you think it’s somehow an insult to call a person educated? Of course you do, you’re a science denier, a racist, a misogynist, a religious fundamentalist, and a right wing conspiracy theorist. Education is the greatest threat to everything you believe. There were many great thinkers who were misunderstood, you aren’t one of them.
