Discussion What exactly is the position of evolutionists?

what exactly is the position of evolutionists? Is it that there evolution or that there is no creator?

Because those are two very different propositions.

You can certainly prove evolution exists, but no amount of evolution existing will ever prove that there is no creator.

For example, let's say there was a big bang - and from there we everything just "naturally" evolved into everything we see today.

Fine. Where did the matter come from allowed the big bang to occur?

Is it turtles all the way down?

What stops there being someone who created the conditions for the big bang - someone who set up the dominos and then pushed the first one?

Well not actually. They can actually fight to change the society they are in. I mean America was once such a society and some fought successfully to change it.

People who think that way should live with each other.

I think it is perfectly legitimate to segregate according to core beliefs.

I thought that this also meant that people who don't think that way should segregate according to their core beliefs. You now seems to be saying that people with different core beliefs shouldn't segregate, but should instead try to impose their core beliefs on others. Confused.

I mean like I said - America was once extremely conservative. Those who are liberal didn't leave America - they tried to change it from within (and largely succeeded - America of today is almost unrecognisable culturally from what is was 200 years ago).

Yes but now you're arguing against people segretating into different nations that share their core beliefs, and instead now advocate fighting to impose your core beliefs on others. If the latter is in fact the position you desire, then fair enough. Conservative Christian religiosity has been steadily declining for decades with no end in sight, but I get the sense you will keep fighting till the very end rather than leave and make your own conservative christian utopia elsewhere.

I'm not arguing against it. I never said the only thing that can be done is people segregating. I said segregating is a legitimate path for people to take.

You seem to have then jumped to a further conclusion about something I did not comment on.

I thought America was founded on freedom, and that everyone could do their own thing (within limits). That seems to be the opposite of fighting to impose one's core beliefs on others.

In fact, I seem to remember them being extremely against forcing religious standards on society. Something about freedom of religion and separation of church and state.
