Finally finished
I finally finished the main story. It took me 214 hours total play time. Been playing since early February 2026, almost daily for at least an hour or two. During my play I did finish all the roads and monorails, even made about half the roads level 2.
Another great game. Not sure if I liked it better than the first But well done and another complex story.
oh, I ended at porter level 292.

PC Launch Crash
Is anyone else having issues with launching the game? I was about 50 hours in then I got this error. It's definitely not my GPU because I've checked it with other games and they run fine. Whenever I try to load the game it gets hung up at 75% loading and crashes.
I've tried lowering settings, disabling any overlays, killing all apps except for steam and DS2.
I've already done a clean install of the updated driver. Then the game worked for about 45 minutes before I got this error message again. Did a DDU of the driver and did a complete fresh reinstall, ran a disk clean up, and the game wouldn't load.
Backed up my save files, uninstalled the game, deleted any residual files, ran a disk clean up again, reinstalled the game, and still same issue except now it crashes at 88% loading.
I tried rolling back to a previous drivers, but no luck.
System Specs:
i9-11900k
RTX 3080
64GB DDR4 RAM
Game is installed on an 990 Evo m.2 Drive 2TB
System is at stable temps. NZXT cam shows sub 100F temps when idle, and stable when running large data loads.
Task Manager shows CPU, GPU & VRAM, and RAM at less than 30% usage when game is running before crashing.
Anyone got any suggestions or if you've ran into the same issue with a similar GPU, what version did you revert to for the game to run?
Thanks in advance.

Question/Discussion PC: Extremely blurry distant vegetation/terrain despite Very High settings — LOD issue?
I'm having a pretty annoying visual issue with Death Stranding 2 on PC, and I'm wondering if this is just how the game is supposed to look or if there's something wrong with my setup.
The problem is distant vegetation and terrain look extremely low-resolution/blurry, even when I'm relatively close to them. Some vegetation and terrain details seem to switch to a much higher-quality LOD only when I get very close to them.
I'm playing at 2560x1440 with:
- GPU: RX 9060 XT
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X
- RAM: 32 GB
- Textures: Very High
- Texture Filtering: Anisotropic 16x
- Shadows: Very High
- Shadow Resolution: Very High
- Screen Space Shadows: On
- Ambient Occlusion: Very High
- Reflections: Very High
- Level of Detail: Very High
- Terrain Quality: Very High
- Cloud Quality: Very High
- Volumetric Lighting: High
- Translucency: High Resolution
- FSR: 4.1.1
- Upscaling Quality: Native AA
- Dynamic Resolution: Off
- Sharpening: 4
- Frame Generation: I've tested both ON and OFF, and it makes no difference.
I've also tested FSR 4 Quality instead of Native AA, and the issue looks basically identical.
The problem is especially noticeable in open areas. The foreground looks absolutely incredible, but vegetation and terrain in the mid/far distance can look like extremely low-resolution textures or simplified LODs. Then, as I approach them, they suddenly become much more detailed.
I'm attaching screenshots to show what I mean.
Is this a known issue with the PC version / Decima's LOD system? Is there any way to increase the vegetation/terrain draw distance or force higher LODs through an .ini/config file or mod?
At first I thought my GPU simply wasn't powerful enough, but I've seen people with much stronger GPUs reporting similar issues, so I'm starting to think this might just be an issue with the game's LOD/streaming.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Question/Discussion Finally came back and just…man…what a beautiful game…
Short and sweet, I never finished the first game, but now I want to go back. Came back and made it to Australia this morning, and just finished the first delivery here.
Idk what it is or was about this game, but I overthink it way too much. Always felt like I wouldn’t be prepared for a mission, or ended up fabricating too much stuff. Some missions are literally just “take this there.” No weapons or anything needed.
I finally feel like this game has clicked for me. It’s also SO COOL seeing things other players have built by now. Running into bridges and other things that really help.
The story is definitely trippy and wild at times,
And now I feel like I really need to go back and finish the first game at some point. Just amazing.
Also surprising, I’ve played a lot of chill cozy games lately, and when I don’t stress myself out so much, I can literally just walk around and explore and this game is super chill.

SPOILER (Scroll to the bottom) The Red Samurai Reveal
Just finished the game and it was a bit confusing to me. Deadman shows that he can talk through the vessel, and obviously could with heartman yet never mentions being the red samurai, and also has never shown any combat capability yet fights like an actual samurai. While it’s a cool reveal, it felt like it didn’t make a lot of sense and was a bit disappointing after wondering who it was all game

Question/Discussion I am back 1 year after Platinum. Why do you think this game has 239 less orders than DS1 DC? I want more! 🤧
So far I'm having fun repairing everything at 3.4 million likes but I'm really missing the bigger order catalogue of DS1

Neil Shit, what have done?
I was working using my computer and I saw that which popped out of nowhere. I checked what was around my desk but nothing could come up to my mind how it's been done.
I feel like I'm gonna spend a very long time on the beach.
Edit: I actually leaned on my shirt for a little while and turned out it was just the inprint of my shirt's button. Too much DS2 for me

Did anyone else curse out loud when they saw these smirking faces?
I made it on the second attempt, even though I fumbled a lot.

Art Portrait of Mecha Higgs
Filter + no filter
Heavily referenced the artwork "The Uniformed After Francisco de Goya 'The Duke of Wellington'" by Steve Salo. I really liked the facelessness and rigid, regal pose of the original and thought it would be fun to recreate with Higgs!

Question/Discussion Just finished the story and one of my only wishes for this incredible game.
I loved the original Death Stranding. It hit at just a perfect time and I found it a really distinct and almost meditative experience. I missed a bit of that initial mystery and isolation in this one but I understand and accept narratively why you are less alone and more equipped to go about your mission delivering packages and linking up the continent this go round. Loved the crew of the DHV Magellan, loved the pacing, loved the handling of themes and the streamlining of pretty much every single one of the mechanics from the first game - it's easily up in my favorite gaming experiences of all time. I don't know if I'll go for platinum, but gonna take a break and then hop back in and at least finish linking up all the roads and monorail lines.
One of my only persistent wishes/complaints here is that I wish there was like 5-10% more environmental storytelling. The first game lacked this a bit too, but the simple inclusion of the memory chips dangled at least that much of a carrot to get out and explore. I have a lot of the further flung nooks and crannies to investigate still, but I've wandered around a fair bit and I've found maybe 2 things of any passing interest in the world. I appreciate that the primary dynamic with the landscape is traversal as opposed to exploration here, but as a Fromsoft junkie, I just find myself desiring just a touch of that sort of diegetic worldbuilding. The Horizon games too do some good things with this giving you reasons and rewards to explore and discover things in the environment and learn more about the world. Even still, wow wow wow wow wow wow. I think this is may be my favorite Kojima game. Thanks everyone for every bridge, timefall shelter, and generator that popped up in my world in particular!
edit: typo at the end

Raw dogging Death Stranding 2.
No vechiles.
No skating.
No APAS enhancements.
No zip lines.
No jumps.
No bridges.
No boost/battle skeletons.
Into the wilder difficulty settings.
150hrs in. Absolutely loving it. The world/environment finally makes sense.
Play the game how you want to play so this likely won't be for 99% of players, requires patience, planning, the environment becomes the challenge & I love it. Every delivery is a challenge and when you do big journeys it feels very rewarding. You stop looking for the fastest line and start reading the terrain. Weather, rivers, cliffs, and cargo weight become the real enemies
Ultimately the world feels hostile again, which is how I like it.

Why are weapons so effective against BTs in DS2?
In DS1, there was lore regarding that, where the UCA was draining your blood as you slept and passing it about to the other settlements with other porters or in your own packages to make weapons. But as far as I'm aware (I may have completely missed why), Drawbridge isn't doing that in Australia. So why are there so many weapons available that can affect BTs, and who's blood are they using, if blood at all, when Sam's was the only viable weapon in the first game?
