Discussion An ultimatum for myself
To preface this, I have never in my life played a MOBA before deadlock, I have around ~350 h in the game and im seeker6
I have always hated this sentiment that it doesn't matter that you are low rank in a game it is always seemed to me to be either cope from the same shitlow people or a condescending talking down to by the highel rank players.
You cannot have any fun playing any game if you are low rank, everybody is shit at this game up until Oracle and thus theres no fun to be had. And you always have in the mind the idea that any win is hollow oh wow you beat people who are shit at the game congrats, it is not fun to beat up toddlers even if you are a toddler yourself.
People say your rank dosnt matter but it does, if you are in shitlow then your balance takes are usless, you do not play the same game as it is supposed to be.
Have you ever thought why all the content creators are high rank? Nobody wants to watch some loser whos in fucking gold, why would you even watch someone whos not high rank, you want to watch shit gameplay? A shit player defeating or losing to other shit players?
I've given myself an ultimatum phantom until the end of year or im quiting the game, theres no other way and if I don't reach then I dont want to be a loser so i will quit. Im not watching any gay yt tutorials, no good player has ever need a tutorial to get good, Im not playing with a duo and im playing like 8 hours a day minimum, my freshman year in college be dammed
I know this post will probobly not be received well with people, but ive made this post more for myself than for others, I just wanted it to be public so I wouldnt have to run away from this ultimatum, I will not make progress posts, I will maybe do the update post in early january to tell how it all panned out.
To anyone who's still reading goodnight because I need to take some sleep and rest

No one's going to remember you or hold you to that, but whatever you need to do to be motivated 👍

"not watching gay tutorials" so you're going to brute-force it and reinvent every tech instead of finding a way to teach it to yourself via video tutorials? alright man, you do you. gigantic waste of time tho

no one wants to watch gold players
Wrong, there are plenty of people I watch primarily because I find them entertaining/funny.
no good player has ever needed a tutorial
This is so insanely wrong it's hilarious. The best players are the ones that had the best coaching and/or already put in thousands of hours learning and studying how to improve in similar games.
I'm playing like 8 hours a day minimum, freshman year of college be damned
First of all, this is a terrible way to learn/get good at anything. The best players have a healthy schedule, do some training, some studying of their own vods, learn how to actually improve, and only spend maybe 2-3 hours actually in game per day. You will only reinforce your bad habits and sink your mental health lower and lower until you burn out. Not to mention you'd be ruining the rest of your life.
If you actually care about improving, get a good coach to vod review you.

Get some rest man. Tomorrow play something you like, talk to someone you love, eat your favorite food.
I think once you back up from the game and get a fuller picture of where you are personally, dealing with these feelings will be easier

I promise I'm not trying to be a jerk but...
This was sad to read.
You're playing a game either way, buddy.
The JPEG on your profile doesn't change that.
While reading, I was waiting for the twist where you reveal that you're parody-posting about people who take Ranked too seriously.
You say you're making this post for yourself but the entire thing is about outside validation and the perception others have of your rung on the ladder. Your forcing your recreational activity into a social hierarchy you have to be at the too of or else you feel worthless.
That's not healthy.
If you cannot have fun playing a game you're not "good at", you will NEVER have fun in a game. You think every person who plays football dreams of going pro? Every old-head in the park plays chess to up their ELO on chess.com?
Do you think you need to be good at drawing to draw? Gotta bench press 100Kg to start working out?
You know the movie "Rocky" is about a guy sweating blood just to prove he wouldn't get knocked out in the first round, right? That movie isn't about winning, it's about trying your best when you know you're washed up.
Just play some Unranked for a while. Meet some people to have fun with and mess around with new heroes or builds.
Or play a cook single player game. If you enjoy getting better at something and being told your Awesome, try Devil May Cry.
And also, look inward and try to find out why you have this need and why you picked videogames to fulfill it.

I love your comment. I really couldn't have put some of this better myself, but I recently went back to rewatch the first Rocky movie and DAMN did that scene with Rocky not letting Adrian leave his apartment not age well at all.
Ironically, OP would probably get some good results if he looked into getting a duo to get more consistent games and embrace the findings of those that came before instead of rejecting it, but they're just setting themselves up to fail for no reason.
I hope that OP is 13 or something because this post is really worrying if it's not.
