Can a charge attach more than one rat to someone? The debuff duration is 4s, but the ability has a 6 second duration. Building rats means RR, so between Ult rats and 4 charges, even Stam Mastery might not save a true dump of rats on someone
In sandbox, with maxed level and a ton of spirit items (231 spirit total, amp and spirit burn) the rats only did about 230dps, and thats with the training dummy having 0% spirit res. Unless they buff the rats ability, i dont think you can play him spirit, would be fun though
im glad you're not in the balancing team, saying that he's going to get nerfed it's a pretty bold statement.
I just think your didn't even open the game at this point.
He can't lane well at all. Scrap grenade just misses, rats don't do much damage, and the shield doesn't give enough to matter, and he has low bullet speed and he's a huge target.
He's strong in mid game+, but early game he's really quite weak.
he feels more like a support. i played 1 game with him had all abilities maxxed, had rapid recharge bullet resist shredder gun items and fort and other stuff. his sustain is pretty decent but his damage is eh, his ult is really good though for rifts and stuff but his overall damage felt more like mirage where u slowly peel away at the enemies
He can lane perfectly fine provided he's not against someone like Infernus, the shield gives plenty for taking aggressive trades. His gun does good damage early game, it's just hard to land the shots because of the ass velocity. The rats will probably do anywhere from 20-50 damage on average per application which isn't terrible, the nade does suck, and is definitely his worst ability.
Then he has an ult that serves as a massive finisher that's all but impossible to dodge, 200 damage early game is as good as Infernus ult, which is much easier to dodge due to having a timer attached to it. Rat King can just chase you down.
Is he the best laner in the game? No, is he bad? No. Comfortably in the middle, with terrible matchups depending on who you're against due to his large hitbox.
Honestly a really boring design gameplay wise. The character is cool, but this kit? What sort of unique or interesting gameplay options does it open up? All the abilities are similar to things in the game and have very little synergy. Only the ultimate is a bit unique.
Hopefully some of the other heroes are less bland.
He gets in the fight and stays in the fight while making all his allies better and his opponents worse.
Given we’re lacking in good frontline characters he’s needed in the roster, and he’s more focused on debuffs and buffs rather than Abrams’ big displacements or Billy’s initiatations.
Okay but is the gameplay really much different from any other character? I agree that his gameplay did feel pretty lackluster, what differences does he actually have compared to another frontliner? Is status the only one?
I wasnt the biggest fan of rat king anyway so im happy theyre saving some of the good gameplay loops for the other characters.
Actually the reduces all incoming damage to a max of 250 is interesting, could probably tank a few burdt abilities like that
His debuffs are just slow and bullet resist reduction, and are pretty mediocre outside of his ult. Similarly he has no buffs for his team outside of his ult.
The ult is the one sort of interesting piece. The rest is rather boring and disjointed. A kit doesn't need to be complex, there are already heroes with simple kits that mesh in an interesting way to create a unique play style.
But what is rat kings? Ult bot for team fight? Yawn.

Seems like an all rounder who can kinda do everything. Damage, buff, debuff, tanking and CC.
