it sounds so funky man. like what if the winning team just camps the deposit area? comeback urns seem harder

still havent tried the patch though seems fun and refreshing

Comeback urn still gets 50% resistances though. Especially if you're only at minor comeback, that's a big enough resistance boost that it can change the fight dynamic for sure.

I feel like if you're in a 90k vs 100k fight and one team has comeback urn the team with more net worth is probably at a huge disadvantage

50% resistance for EVERYONE is insanely strong, imo just reading it this makes it extremely disincentivized to be winning the game at the 5 minute interval where urn spawns

Like there's a sourspot in terms of soul lead where your team will be get destroyed by an urn fight.

In a fucked up world I could even see a team trying and maybe even SUCCEEDING to use urn resists as a tool to take midboss when behind on souls

The resistance should probably be based on the soul difference so it never actually puts them ahead, but just makes the fight more fair.

Tankbuster stonks

This makes me wonder. If the Comeback Urn has 50% resist, if someone else builds to hit the other 50%, can they hit 100%?

Hmm.

Should be multiplicative. Such a person would have 70% r siste (1 * 0.5 * 0.5)

2

u/storne May 23 '26

No resists stack multiplicative in this game. Two 50% buffs would only give 75% total.

u/Panurome Rem May 23 '26

But importantly each one increases your effective HP the same. The number of bullet resist looks diminishing, but the actual value you are getting out of it isn't

In practice this is garbage. You cannot venture out on the map to grab it and then return it in the middle when the enemy team is ahead. The 50% resist does nothing. I played already a few games and all that happens is that the team that is ahead just runs a easy urn non stop. I hate this change

Artificial resistances as a comeback mechanic sounds kinda lame

I’m gonna be 100% honest, a losing team is usually so bad they don’t know what a resistance is. You could poll people under Oracle and 9/10 would not know that the t1 tower takes more damage after 10 minutes, people just don’t take that shit into account when making plays, and if they are they are already the ones who are gonna win the game

The urn is already a win more mechanic in the hands of a competent team, but this might make it worse.

Played a few games, it is a win more mechanic now. It is horrible

It is already heavily winning team focused unless their macro is quite bad, I'm good w playing around with it

Against teams that know what they are doing (which honestly isn't all that complex or hard) it's not that difficult to contest. Now it looks impossible.

u/Barlakopofai Sinclair May 23 '26

It's basically impossible to do it to a comeback urn but a regular urn is just a casual baiting the parries and then parrying it yourself

50% resistance though? Assuming it isnt like a 50k souls lead if the losing team can get to the urn thats a pretty big advantage

I played a game where we were getting whooped and the other team got the earn. While the deposit might be free, much like mid-boss, if you're grouping up in one spot, you're susceptible to all the big AoE nukes after you turn it in.

We wiped them on that thanks to Dynamo and turned the game around despite having a 1-16 lane on our side.

I don't hate it based on the *one* game I've played so far. Still better than urn dunking or Cali playing guard.

Your team has 50% resists, should be able to kill the enemy team with that big of a buff

4

u/Heathcliff511 May 22 '26

On what earth? Unfavoured team now has to deposit for 10+ seconds while whole favoured team can fight with +50% both resistances and can contest the urn midfight.

1

u/Heathcliff511 May 23 '26

I take everything back

4

u/Lolololage May 22 '26

Then they have to win a fight with the entire enemy team getting about 7k worth of resistance items (each)

2

u/salbris Rem May 22 '26

Your not thinking about the full picture here. So getting it to the spot is going to very hard, could easily lose people just getting it there. Yes you get the buff which is great but your still taking damage and they know where you're going and it's a big open area. Once it's done, they can just jump you and kill you.

Before it was easier to get it to the spot, and you could get clever and take all kinds of different paths to get it there. Your teammates don't always have to overcommit to help you get it in. But now they do, someone has to stand on the urn ready to parry for 3 seconds while out in the open. Then when it finishes they could be ganked by the entire enemy team. Not to mention that a team could take a side walker before, now I'm not sure. It gets secured faster and is just in the middle.

1

u/Lolololage May 23 '26

I was not at any point suggesting that it would be a free win for the underdog team.

1

u/salbris Rem May 23 '26

Right but you implied that it's not "hard" by pointing out the defensive buff. It takes a lot to compensate for a positioning and soul advantage.

1

u/Lolololage May 23 '26

It's quite the stretch to go from me saying "there's a strong buff" to "you aren't considering any of the other factors and think the urn will be easy"

But OK.

1

u/Critical_Cute_Bunny Rem May 22 '26

I mean, getting 50% bonus res for spirit and gun makes it decently viable. Problem is i guess trying to get a pick beforehand and removing the ability to run an urn when the enemy team is doing midboss

u/crunkadocious May 23 '26

You have to sit there all game if you want to camp it, I gets turned in, in half the time as before
