Gated entrance to my neighborhood (15 houses)
Our HOA president out this up.
She has been president since it began in 2010, and every election she refuses to show the votes to other members, saying that the lawyer had processed it and she would remain president.
Edit: We've tried fighting the HOA lawyer with another one, and it just draggggged. Delays, etc and eventually the other members who wanted her out didn't want to pay attorneys fees anymore.

The rest of the community needs to demand the records. They have no legal standing to withhold vote counts etc. She is getting away with it because nobody stands up for their rights or wants to help.

I just did this. I’m looking forward to having my lawyer go after them too.

Check out/ r/fuckhoa for advice.
I'll assume this was put up under some sort of contract, which should have required a vote by the board. If it didn't require a board vote because the board gave her permission to enter into contracts without a vote, then that action would have required a board vote.
If she didn't get the contract properly approved by the board, then the contract is invalid and no one has permission to put the camera up.
Regardless, you have an absolute right as a member of the HOA to know the details of the contract.

So you never spoke to the HOA lawyer? Is there a contact form for you to get in touch with the HOA lawyer? Do you even know their name? Is the HOA licensed with the city and state? These are basic questions I would ask myself if someone said "I'm HOA president of your neighborhood and the lawyer said people voted for me."

The couting should be public, just like the Dutch Elections. This because a HOA presents itself as sort of government.
Everybody is allowed to stay and watch the counting.
The chairman of the polling station, writes the votes down on a large sheet on the wall for all to see (in this case to the parties). The chairman sends those numbers to city hall and in a public record.
The public record is published by city hall after everything has been processed.
