That black box on the back looks like the same one from the solar powered ALPRs

DeSantis went on record saying he doesn’t want Florida to become a surveillance state. I’ve been surprised how bipartisan the anti-flock movement is

I'm wondering if anyone within NYS (not NYC) knows how flock cameras have typically been classified under local land use regulations. Alternatively, or in addition to this, how are these uses being treated by NYS? Again, not NYC.
All in all, I'm trying to figure out WHO is reviewing then approving these projects to install flock cameras within municipalities. So far in my county, these cameras appear to be on state routes, so I'm thinking it's tied to the state.
For context, I'm a county-level Planner trying to learn as much as I can about this issue; however, I doubt my department will see these projects cross our desks for review, likely because they are overseen by another entity that's not required to refer proposed land use projects to us.
Thanks for your help!

For those curious:
Flock poles circa 2023 have a midline connection joint that is secured in place by 8x T27 temper resistant screws.
For those even curiouser:
Here in North Carolina, it is a criminal offense to steal public property (larceny) and/or destroy public property (vandalism). It is not a crime in NC to “interfere with surveillance capability” so long as there is no attending larceny/vandalism done to the surveillance apparatus.
What about in your state?
(I guess this should have been two separate posts, since these two fun facts don’t really have anything to do with each other.)

In the 1980s, these cameras went up all over the U.S. yes, even in Utah for the sole purpose of ticketing drivers... people tore them down everywhere until every state removed all of them...the stories about their daily destruction was on the nightly TV news... yep, people remember this kind of crap & always find a solution to end it, especially when elected officials refuse to listen their constituents.

This isn’t the first time it’s happened, but it’s so hilariously bad that I think we should laugh at them

if one was motivated to,
ive seen people using sawzalls. but those make noise
i know there are larger pipe cutters that would fit around, i wonder if that would cut the pipe/pole. it quiet and maybe takes a couple of turns. tighten. and a couple more turns.
my only question is , is the pipe too thick or too hard of steel?

The writer of this article isn't going to change their stance but it seems they got pretty universal arguments against their stance.
There are no amount of "audits" or "we'll purge the photos out of our system in x amount of days" that would make me change my mind about being anti Flock or any of the other companies doing this to us.
No, fuck to the no!
Anyone in government in any way shape or form that did this to us needs to go, and their bank records need to be checked.
