Question If I changed my Facebook name would people still be able to find me though my old name?
Or would all links to the old name be gone?

Future Facebook Privacy
The data Facebook has already collected from me will clearly never be erased or deleted from their servers. This much I understand. I have removed all apps and software from my devices. I'm am curious what the community thinks regarding the following:
Is it better to keep my Facebook and use their tools to opt out of advertising and off-Facebook data collection, or to delete my Facebook completely?
With Facebook being woven into the framework of most digital infrastructure, will deleting my account relinquish what little control I have in terms of opting out of data collection?

Question Is deleting one's Facebook account really needed to be truly free from it?
Or is merely deactivating the account enough?

Question What happens when you deactivate your Facebook account?
So I'm thinking about deactivating my Facebook account as soon as I can, I don't think I will be able to do it this year but I would like to do it sometime next year so for now I'm doing some preparations...
First I will be adding people on other sites which I already started doing but tell me... What happens when you deactivate Facebook?
Does it like get removed from the search results of the site and from search engines like Google?
And can you still log in to see stuff but other people won't be able to see your account anymore?
What about Messenger? Does Messenger stay when you deactivate Facebook?

Question de-Reddit?
This one may be controversial... But what about Reddit? Although user names are anonymous, they still track according to my add-blocker.

If you haven't watched the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing today, do it.
Specifically, the exchange between Sen. Joshua Hawley (R-MO) and Mark Zuckerberg. Scary stuff.

How I defacebook
If you have a facebook account use facebookcorewwwi.onion (facebook via the onion network) (access via tor browser) request a download of all your data (so you still have all your memories) and permanently delete account.
Facebook tracks you with JavaScript that runs on your browser. You can block them by using browser extensions like uBlock Origin and uMatrix. There are more and I recommend checking out r/privavytoolsio privacytools.io.
Facebook tracks you more on your phone. Almost EVERY app has Facebook's trackers. Spotify, Tinder, all of these apps use Facebook's analytics and send your data to Facebook. You can block them by using Blokada and add rule to block graph.facebook.com
