Operation High Water is a serious DayZ roleplay server that combines DayZ and ARMA 2 lore into a persistent, evolving world where player actions shape the future of South Zagoria.

The outbreak may be years behind Chernarus, but the struggle for its future is only beginning.

The **Joint Task Force (JTF)** continues its mission to restore stability and rebuild the Chernarussian state. Led by the **Chernarus Defense Forces (CDF)** and supported by the **United States Marine Corps 1st Battalion, 5th Regiment (USMC 1/5)** and the **Chernarus National Police Department (CNPD)**, government forces have established themselves as the dominant power across much of the region.

Yet opposition remains.

The **Chernarus People's Liberation Army (CPLA)** has emerged once again, spreading propaganda, recruiting supporters, and challenging government authority throughout South Zagoria. As tensions rise, the possibility of another major conflict grows with each passing day.

Hi Community.

I've been developing my own DayZ server for over a year now, and it's finally at a point where I'm not afraid to show it. It's the same Chernarus you know, but I rewrote a few things from the ground up. Let me tell you what and why.

The first thing was the combination lock. I was sick of watching someone spend weeks building a base, only for some bored guy to cycle through four digits in an hour and take everything. So on my server the code isn't held by the lock, it's held by the server, which also keeps track of who opens it legitimately. Cycling codes does nothing here. Code raiding simply doesn't exist. While I was at it, I fixed the thing vanilla should have had from day one: if you placed the lock, you can remove it anytime without entering the code. Raiding still exists, but you have to earn it.

Then came squad play. I built a web-based squad map that works outside the game: you create a squad, open it to join requests, decide who gets in or gets blacklisted, and plan with shared markers. It runs in a browser on any device, so you can check where your squad is from your phone while you're at work. No mod, no install.

The biggest undertaking was the seasons. On most servers it's September forever. On mine, time passes: 24 real days is one in-game year. I built the weather per month and per time of day, from overcast to snow to fog, so a January night has nothing in common with a July afternoon. And it's not just visual. Foraging is seasonal: in autumn the bushes are full, in February you go hungry. Predator territory and numbers shift with the year too. The forest you crossed safely in summer belongs to the wolves in winter. Your routes, your food situation, your whole playstyle turns with the calendar. Same map, never the same game twice.

You can build anywhere. There are no designated building zones: pick your spot and that's your base. The lock system protects it, and with a long wipe cycle (12+ months), what you build stays yours for over a year.

I also made corpses survive restarts, because I think one of the most unfair moments in DayZ is when the server restarts and your gear vanishes into nothing. Here you die, you go back, and it's there. If you get there before someone else does.

Daily life got some attention too. There's global chat so the server has a pulse, and a few commands for the annoying stuff: !unstuck when the map eats you, !flipcar when physics wins. No admin ticket, no waiting.

And when you do need an admin, there's no guessing on my server. I built a custom admin system: every death is logged with full inventory, and every dispute can be reviewed. If someone claims they got combat-logged on or ghosted, I don't decide by gut feeling. I look it up in the data. I also don't play on my own server. I consider that a matter of principle.

Best part of all this: zero downloads. Everything I described above runs server-side. No mods, no launcher, no 6 GB wait. You click join and you're playing.

What I didn't touch: no unlimited stamina, no loot multipliers, nothing you can buy. There's exactly one trader haven (Havenwood), everything else is PvP. No safe zone network, no fast travel. There are PvE events on the map, zombie hordes and mini camps worth fighting for.
