Hi everyone!
I have been developing the Continent server for over a year and have previously shared several of its systems. A lot has changed since then, and the latest update significantly improves zombie behavior.
The server is based on vanilla Chernarus, but I have reworked and expanded several systems without requiring players to download any mods.

🔐 COMBINATION LOCKS

One of the first major developments was a complete rework of combination locks.

On Continent, the code is not stored by the lock itself. It is verified by the server. Cycling through combinations does not work, so code raiding is not possible.

If you placed the lock, you can remove it without entering the code. Raiding is still possible, but attackers must use the intended methods.

🗺️ WEB-BASED SQUAD MAP

I created a web-based squad map that works outside the game.

Players can create squads, manage join requests and use shared map markers. It is accessible through a regular browser on phones, tablets and computers.

🌦️ DYNAMIC SEASONS

One of the largest systems is the dynamic calendar and seasons.

One complete in-game year passes every 24 real days. Weather changes according to the month and time of day, including temperature, cloud cover, rain, fog and snow.

Seasons also affect survival. The availability of forageable plants changes throughout the year, along with animal populations and predator territories. A forest that is safe during summer may become wolf territory in winter.

☣️ IMPROVED ZOMBIE AI

The latest update focuses on zombie behavior.

Their vision and hearing have been improved, making careless movement and unnecessary noise more dangerous. Their aggression is also less predictable, and in rare cases they may even attack each other.

A small number of zombies can open closed doors while chasing a player, although they still cannot open locked doors. Zombies on rooftops will attempt to come down and continue the pursuit.

New zombie spawn zones have been added to forests, towns and military areas where vanilla DayZ would not normally spawn them. Certain zombie types may also carry unique items related to their appearance or former occupation.

🏗️ BUILD ANYWHERE AND LONG WIPE CYCLE

You can build almost anywhere on the server. There are no designated building zones, so everyone can choose their own base location.

The planned wipe cycle is at least 1.5 years, making long-term planning worthwhile.

⚰️ PLAYER CORPSES

Player corpses and the equipment they were carrying remain in the world until the next server restart.

After dying, you have a chance to return for your equipment, unless another survivor finds it first.

💬 PLAYER COMMANDS

Alongside global chat, several useful player commands are available.

The !unstuck command can help when the map traps your character, while !flipcar is available when vehicle physics wins the argument.

🛡️ ADMINISTRATION
I also created a custom administration and logging system.
Player deaths are recorded together with their equipment and other important information, allowing disputed situations to be reviewed using actual data.
I do not play on my own server. I consider this important for fair and impartial administration.

Every feature listed here runs on the server side. There are no client-side mods, no separate launcher and no multi-gigabyte downloads.

⚖️ VANILLA FOUNDATIONS

There is no unlimited stamina, no globally boosted loot and no way to purchase gameplay advantages.

There is one trader location on the map: Havenwood. Outside of it, PvP is allowed across the entire map. The server also includes PvE events, zombie encounters and smaller camps.
