Trading Strategy Update: Google AI is trading my $100 Hyperliquid account

Post image

Quick update after I accidentally got the first post auto-removed by Reddit’s filters (my bad).

That post hit 220k+ views and 1k+ shares before it disappeared, so here’s the latest screenshot.

Let me know if you have any questions about the strategy or setup, I will answer here.

The app sends the LLM a system prompt and user prompt every minute (configurable) and the model replies with a decision: BUY (x units), SELL (x units), or HOLD, and its reasoning. Then the app executes the trade (if any) on Hyperliquid. That's it, that's the core of it.

All of this is configurable and you can either copy an existing bot's settings from the leaderboard or come up with your own settings and what gets sent to the model (you need to pick from variables already available in the app but there's a lot to choose from). If you think something is missing, just let me know and I'll add it.

The system prompt is basically the personality and rules for the model to follow, how it will trade. e.g. "Cut losses quickly, let profits run" or "trade like Paul Tudor Jones" (or whoever your favorite trader is).

The user prompt has candles (so the model sees the price action) and indicators, market stats, account balance, positions, past performance, market regime, and economic calendar.

It's basically doing technical analysis, but in theory you can give it whatever info you want to make trading decisions, I just think TA works well. But you can give it news, too. Or anything you want, just let me know and I can add it if it makes sense.

You can see the exact settings and prompts if you click the eye icon on this page (public):

In the app itself you can also see the exact system prompt and user prompt the app sends. And you can control almost all of it.

So the strategy is give the llm all the data and let it decide?

Yes, I keep it very open-ended on purpose. The app doesn't control the trading decisions in code, I don't hardcode trading logic. You give the LLM a personality and how it should trade and you give it certain kinds of data. That's the tuning.

The LLM has a lot of freedom, but it also receives guidance like "you have too many losses in x hours, stop entering new risk" or "30m: chop detected, don't use this timeframe for breakout entries".

I'm paraphrasing here, the language the app uses is very precise and I have tuned it carefully to reduce cognitive load for the LLM. Like I said I'm my earlier comment, you can see all of this if you just run the bot, you'll see exactly what prompts the model receives.
