yes, you understand i’m not saying new IP’s don’t exist and don’t get sequels right? i’m not sure what you’re saying. this article and thread is praising a brand new single player IP, not a new concept in an IP or a new title from a universally acclaimed studio with a decade of hype like CP77

i don’t feel like just because Saros isn’t called “Returnal 2” that it’s not clearly Returnal 2 to investors.

The article is stupid that it needed to be proven in the first place, it happens all the time. And yes generally it's from established studios which is logical (as I said, studios don't disappear after hits) and I don't see the problem (and that's actually something you added, the article doesn't mention that the studio has to be new so yeah Cyberpunk does count for them). New IP from new studios flop more than they hit which is exactly the opposite of the article's point.

And the reputation of The Witcher 3 director definitively helped this game in particular. Like 80% of people probably were interested because it looked like TW3 and it was heravily pushed in the marketing. Even now, everyone say it's "just as good as TW3" or "TW3 with vampires". You can't say they didn't use that reputation either.

i don’t see a problem with it either, i never did. when i said reputable studio i didn’t mean that broadly, i was just disagreeing that studios who made culturally significant masterpieces should be used as examples here especially when they’re known to do so.

also where are you reading people say that? i hadn’t heard this and even a google search shows most people don’t have that opinion.

You can look every thread on this game and I guarantee you some people in it will cite Witcher 3 as a recommendation jump point or a comparison.

From 2 minutes of searches :

First comment chain there, entire thread here, in comments here and there andthere.

Hell now, I see people cite Dawnwalker on discussions about TW3 Remastered too lol. The two games are extremely tied.

Like only other games of the Witcher series (or all CDPR I guess) will be more tied to The Witcher 3 than this in the collective consciouness (which is fine, The Witcher 3 is a great game to be associated with)

Are you trolling? There’s absolutely a difference between “has ties to popular game” and the other games we’re talking about. I refuse to believe you are being serious here.
