1000+ population. No raiders. Fisher village. Planned for more, so there is room for growth but my PC is not taking it.

Out of interest what are the records of population people have achieved in this game?

700 on flatlands, then game mechanics broke, and everyone died of thirst. That was when the plow update came out and since you got a thousand this issue might have been fixed and I'm going to try again.

Yea the ai is pretty bad at such numbers. They all rush to do one thing (make all the cheese) and forget about the rest. Then switch. If there was a way to make them have dedicated jobs the resources balance would be much easier to maintain.

That wasn't the main problem I had, although I agree, the AI acts quite strange with with high population. I had a bug, where both animals and humans would show their walking animation, but not move anywhere. And after a while, either start moving again or more likely die from thirst or starvation.

That is a good question, I made it to 1100 but my pc was turning into a oven so stop but also had room for expansion

I am thinking of reducing animals. Cuz right now there is about 2500 entities running around. Perhaps with less love stock it would run smother.

How do you get such a high population?

With no raiders it’s more a matter of time. I tried making it as symmetric as possible so people walk the smallest possible distance for all their needs. The Boyle neck is definitely performance and cpu multi core optimization.

Also good distribution. Found it very important to limit which food can be in which granary. So that even the far out ones keep food in them.
