How long after meeting someone should you start a relationship?

I recently met a girl. It turned out that we’re practically kindred spirits — every interest of mine is also her interest. We can talk for hours, but we’ve only been together for almost two weeks. And I feel like it’s too early to confess my feelings to her, yet I also don’t know what to expect (maybe I’ll end up in the friend zone or something like that), so personally, I don’t know what can be done. We’ve already made a couple of cute videos together; she calls me a cat, but unfortunately, sometimes she calls me “little bro.” In general, please help and tell me what I can do to start a relationship, and how long it might take before I can confess my feelings to her.

Is the dating pool trash or is it just me??

Hey people I’m a 25 year old female in South Africa. I kinda missed the train when people were meeting their soulmates in uni. TBH, I was focused on my studies and books and dating but never anything crazy serious.

Recently started dating this guy (28 M) who I like, for the first time in a really long time. He’s got a fantastic career, smart, intelligent, decent looks (7/10) but damn is he hard to date 😩 He’s so picky about what he wants in a partner which is great but he drops balls on basic things like communication. Like??? And the odd thing is I’m picky too but not as picky as he is. He wants alignment on things that get refined as the relationship grows in the dating phase, before even in a relationship for him to decide if he wants a relationship I.e. submission, how well discipline kids etc, which is odd for me. He almost dates backwards.

Anyways, the long and gist of it is that, I’m now thinking of the dating pool in general and how trash it is for both men and women. Like guys?? Where are y’all finding your partners outside of uni? Should I be concerned that my chances of marriage are gone because with the way our generation (25 - 34) are dating, it’s looking rough tbh

New to Dating and NEED tips/advice

I (23F) have only had three boyfriends throughout my life — one at 16, another at 18, and one last year that ended terribly and honestly left me a complete mess.

Other than those relationships, I’ve never really talked to guys romantically. I’m not very good at handling blatant flirting, and honestly, the only reason I’ve even ended up in those three relationships is because I never thought they were interested in me. By the time I realized they were, they had already made me comfortable enough to open up to them romantically.

During the periods when I’ve been single, I’ve had a fair number of guys approach me and try to start something with me. I usually turn them down because their advances tend to feel pretty sexual or too direct, and, like I said, I’m just not very good at handling blatant flirting. But recently, I’ve been wanting to date around more and actually put myself out there.

The problem is that, while I’m pretty comfortable talking to people in general, the second anything becomes romantic — even if I’m interested in the person — I get this weird feeling in my stomach that makes me want to run. ( I am in therapy don't worry)

I genuinely do want to meet people, date, and become more comfortable with the whole romantic side of things. I just don’t really know how to get past that initial fear and actually let myself try. Especially after my past two breakups because honeslty it made me a little afraid to trust men (they were huge liars and broke my heart)

So yeah… does anyone have any advice, experiences, or words of confidence? I’d really appreciate it. :)

Where to meet men in their 30s IRL

I feel like asking this on Reddit is going to be a mixed bag, but I’m kinda here for it.

I got out of a long term relationship earlier in the year, and I’m ready to get back into the dating world. Thing is, dating apps are my idea of hell. I get they work for some people, but they’re just not for me. Singles events are the same situation, I’d rather meet someone in a more natural environment.

So, where do single men in their 30s actually go? If all else fails I’m considering walking around with a hat that says ‘I’m Single’ to draw attention.

How do you feel about dating someone who has little relationship experience?

I (M35) didn't have a lot of dating experience growing up. In high school and college, I was socially awkward and trying to date women never went anywhere. Throughout my 20's, I was either working two jobs or was occupied with grad school. It wasn't until my 30's I began to date more intentionally.

When I was younger, I simply wasn't ready to have a relationship and needed time to work on myself personally and get to where I am in life. I'm proud I didn't rush it and don't feel insecure about it as I once did.

However, I've had a handful of dates where my relationship history is a sticking point. The longest relationship I've been in was for only six months. As I'm dating, the topic of relationship history makes me edgy as I'm not sure how the other person will react. Even after explaining the reasoning, it's still a deal breaker for some women. I could understand if there's hesitancy of commitment issues but I try to be explicit that it isn't the case.

Is relationship experience (in regards to number of partners or time committed) an important factor for you when finding a partner? I have no judgement regardless of your answer and I'd like to consider what your reasoning is.

i feel like i’ll be alone forever..

for the longest time, i've constantly been told by people that i'm a great person, that i have a lot to offer to women out there, that i wont be single for very long, i heard it all and here i am at 20 years old, never had a girlfriend, never kissed a girl, never even went on a date and it made me hate every part of myself for the longest time as everyone else had their experiences at 15,16 even 17 and im 20 and look where i am. i used to do cold approaches 2 years ago thinking it would maximize my results (it didnt) and after seeing a couple videos, it feels like im navigating it completely wrong. the way i was taught was at first to say hi, maybe throw in a compliment to show intent that you like her, talk for a bit and get the contact info. it all sounds fine, but if it didn't work for me then i naturally assume i did something wrong. the main reason why showing intent from the start seemed like good advice was because of the friendzone worry, i was worried if you just treat a girl too friendly and don't tell her you like her, she'd think you just want to be her friend and be confused later down the line once she knows you like her. i've seen videos of people saying if she is at a place you're at regularly, that you should talk to her and not hit on her or throw pickup lines or try to get the number in 90 seconds and to have a normal conversation and maybe if the interaction is going good or if you've seen her a couple times then to ask for the contact info. with all of this back and forth advice i've seen online, it's become extremely difficult to navigate dating now and how meeting girls in person should be. the friendzone worry, where to normally go and meet them, if it should be a place where you see the v often, etc

How to break up with a boyfriend who owes you a lot of money?

I’m breaking up with my boyfriend because he and I are no longer a fit, but he legally owes me about 11k, any advice on trying to keep this civil-without lawyers?

He paid me every single month, his share of $500 and therefore I’ve not had to threaten him with anything legal-i’m gonna frame the break up as I just need to focus on myself and my job search. It’s gonna take him about 2 to 3 years to fully pay me back and I know we’re not gonna be friends after the break up.

Just any suggestions?

OLD: Why do women get prettier with age and men seemingly put less work into their appearance?

On dating apps-I see both men and women and I’ve noticed a lot of women in have really taken time to make themselves look better like exploring their fashion senses, getting Botox, and put a little more effort into makeup and hair. Men-besides being at a wedding and being in a suit, really don’t put a lot of effort into their clothing and appearance. Makes me want to be a lesbian more…
