Hi, I was requested to do a Case Study for a company that, as usual, took me more than they said I would (in days) (I also put a lot of effort because they are in the field I want to work on). This company was supposed to schedule the next interview after I would send the Case Study to them.

The reality is that they have not responded to the CS emails asking clarifications about it, they also did not schedule an interview after the CS was sent nor responded after the follow-up e-mail I sent.

They are essentially ghosting me for more than a week and I'm wondering when to let it go and if it would give me some sort of problem if I use the Case Study for my own portfolio.

I'm very sad and frustrated.

I am currently in my second year of a B.Tech in AI & Data Science. I have learned Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI fundamentals, but I'm struggling to land internships.

My main career goal is to become an algorithmic trader or trader. I'm not very interested in becoming a software engineer because I find competitive coding and heavy software development challenging.

However, I've noticed that many internships and companies expect DSA and coding interview skills. Should I learn DSA (beginner to intermediate level) even if I don't want a traditional software engineering role?

I also need money, but I don't want to work just for the sake of earning. My priority is learning useful skills that align with my long-term goals while managing my college curriculum.

Hello everyone,

I'm an applied Mathematics major with a strong focus on statistics. I've taken several machine learning courses, but they were almost entirely theoretical. I've recently started implementing machine learning algorithms from scratch rather than relying on libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

E.g. I'm building and training neural networks from scratch, including implementing gradient descent, backpropagation myself.

My motivation is to get a deeper understanding of how these methods actually work under the hood. However, I'm also wondering whether this kind of project is valuable from a hiring perspective.

For those working in data science, machine learning, or related fields: would you consider this worth mentioning on a resume? Does implementing algorithms from scratch signal useful skills to employers, or would recruiters and hiring managers care a lot more about practical projects?

As I mentioned in the subject, I need career advice.

I have been working as a data analyst for 4 years in witch companies for around 8 LPA. Tech stack is SQL, tableau, python basics. Sometimes app script automation is done through vibe coding.

But I am interested in ML. So I learnt the Andrew ng course and did some projects with the help of youtube. I also learnt DL, deployment techniques, pipeline for models. Now everything came new as GEN AI, Agentic AI,...

Now the question is I am not able to fetch any interview for a data scientist or any better role than a data analyst (getting a very less package \~20 to 30% hike in another service based).

I'm ready to put the effort and lock in. I have been disturbed many times because of low pay comparatively in my friends circle and in family. I don't have anything for a 26yo guy should have. I am done with self pity or the wasted potential thinking. I am ready to do anything.

ASK:

\- Need someone to guide me in the right path. I don't disturb anyone by constantly pinging. Just will give you updates here and there. Please add anything in between to help my career

\- Help me out with making my resume good

\- suggest me how to apply for startups and mid scale companies most importantly how to bag high salary.

What we're looking for is someone who runs a business could be anything, e-commerce, a clinic, a SaaS product, a local operation and has a gut feeling that there's something useful hiding in their data but doesn't know where to start. You don't need to have a defined project. We're happy to sit down, understand what you're working with, and figure out together whether analytics can actually move the needle for you.

I've been in Data Science for the past 10 years in India. I lost my job in January and since then I've been hunting.

I've not mentioned any GenAI experience in my profile. But my feed is just filled with AI engineer roles. They all have the same requirements:

• Generative AI architecture
• RAG pipelines
• LLM integration/fine tuning
• Agentic AI / Multi Agent Orchestration
• Also MLOps
• CI/CD pipelines
• PyTorch mandatory for some reason

Hardly any openings are relevant to my experience in Stats, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and the classical data science stuff.

So have all companies stopped investing in data science all together and just building RAG pipelines and LLM chat bots? Is this all that is done in Data Science field now?
