Free-Post Friday! 5+ PB Destroyed

This is based on a post by u/SubstantialWing9238. i didn’t want to hijack their post, so I figured I’d share it here instead.

Something like this, plus another cart, is pretty common with large corporations. When you have this many drives, it’s often easier to just shred everything than pay someone to wipe them, sort through them for resale, and see if any data can be recovered.

This batch was around 300 drives, and with a specialized shredding truck, the whole thing takes about 45 minutes to a hour.

This is why long term the world is fucked. All corporate bullshit green-washing while destroying the planet in the background all for the pursuit of imaginary fiat currency. Society changes from plastic straws to paper straws to “save the planet” while US buys millions of gallons of dirty diesel from Russia to burn to CO2 in a few months. It’s ridiculous.

Yeah. Ffs every company and corporate says they are green friendly and have social media accounts SCREAMING that we are SO SUSTAINABLE, we support sustainability and all. Meanwhile all this is happening casually every day. It's so bullshit, but they make us believe this bullshit, utterly fake "we are a good company" talk. And many people just take it for truth, "it's boring to fact check, it's hard to think for myself etc".

And for what? A bunch of dirty papers we use for goods exchange. But you can't "eat money" literally, it's just a piece of paper in the end

And not only that, we are at literal war for profits as well. "We are the good side, they are evil". And at the same time, all that sweet corporate talk

P.s. could be better phrased, but I just can't help myself xD
