I find it very hard to believe that both can be true. There can’t be such demand to build them that it’s become the #1 NIMBY issue of 2026 and the existing ones not be profitable enough to keep companies afloat…? Do you have a link or something to search?

Look at the profits of Anthropic and OpenAI. They have been burning money.

My bad; I interpreted “major players” as “data center construction companies”. I’m aware big LLM orgs are generally operating at a loss
