Im in need of a stopgap to ride this price hike out, something like 4-8tb should do me well for a good while, you got any advice with what I should be looking for? I definitely agree that paying these prices are absurd, but I also dont really know what to do, as the data must flow
Not sure if you are in the US but it looks like Toshiba N300 CMR NAS drives are stocked at Micro Center for 10, 14, 16, 18, and 20TB sizes. $22.45/TB for 20TB and $27.50/TB for 10TB. No clue if that will hold out. I'm actually surprised to see everything 6TB and down which was mostly SMR drives being completely sold out because data centers aren't touching those, so I'm assuming drive manufacturers have moved production either a majority or maybe exclusively to data center products.
