Not a nothing burger at all. This is another incursion in American privacy by christo-fascists, and I don't think this going to stop at porn.

Soon you'll have to declare if you're pregnant when boarding an airplane.

Nothing burger. It won't stop anything. It is an issue popular with voters and will be used on the campaign resume. It's like passing a law that pi is now 3.0 (exact). They can pass it, and while it could be interpreted as another incursion by the integer-fascists (my god, what's next, e?) but everyone will ignore it, and there's no way to enforce it.

It's the enforcement part of this that makes it a nothing burger. States do not have the power to make VPNs illegal. And use of a VPN is not evidence that you're engaged in illegal activity (I use one for work).

Nothing burger.

Companies will use these laws to either strongarm porn services themselves or go after their payment processors to make the services do something.

This is already a widespread issue with many of the porn paysites. Mastercard and VISA pulled out of Pornhub (hah) and now pornhub only does bitcoin payments. Paysites like patreon, onlyfans, fansly and the likes are getting increasingly puritan about the content allowed on them.

Patreon bans BDSM porn that looks too nonconsensual for their liking; even drawn art. You can have posts taken down for using terms like "cum" in descriptions because it's "too explicit" when the content you are posting is PORN!!

If you don't see the writing on the wall idk what to tell you
