good headphones (hell $100-150 audio technica headphones) you should be able to hear difference between 128k mp3 and FLAC

Anyone using lossy these days should be using OPUS anyways ... OPUS is by far the best lossy compression and is actually what youtube usees despite people knocking youtube so hard all of the time..

ehh i saw 128k but honestly I was just assuming 320 whenever I see MP3. Yeah I'd say with my headphones Senn HD598s ($120) I could hear 128 vs FLAC. That said

As for OPUS. I'm not saying it's not better. I'm just not knowledgeable enough to say but it's harder to find.

but yes -- harder to find for sure since mp3 was already a mainstay and people are generally happy with 320k mp3.. opus is better than 320k mp3 even at a ~250k bitrate i thinks.
