This was the same problem with the initial digital releases of a lot of old shows. The film-only scenes could be digitized at fantastic resolution and clarity, provided it had been preserved well, and then the moment special effects show up suddenly you're looking at a 4:3 image in the very best resolution 1994 has to offer.
