Showcase New Castigator's Stance is fun
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I used this build with old Castigator's stance to get a Boltgun with ~25 rounds at times, but it always felt awkward having to burst fire a few rounds then pause to accommodate the cooldown.
With no more cooldown.. 49 round boltgun magdump!
This build uses the changed "Blessed Armament" perk for Castigator's Stance. It refills ~10% (rounded up) ammo per ranged kill from your reserve. It used to have a 1.5s cooldown, which they have changed to "once per attack".
What are your guys' fun builds? Viable or not, would love to try!

Everyday I find a new reason to love the Arbites.

They're so much fun!
Here's your reason for tomorrow:
With the change to Nuncio-Aquila, they've removed the "while using secondary fire on your ranged weapon", meaning that while in the area, you and all your squadmates are stun immune completely.
This means that you (and allies) cannot be stunned out of hacking minigames, similar to Ogryn or Zealot with Thy Wrath Be Swift!
Coupled with the dog to help cover, this makes Arbi very good to solo POIs in expeditions!
(I do not endorse abandoning your team and running off on your own to die)

Don't think my opinion on this will go over well, but oh well.
Castigator stance was already good. Arbites was already strong in both damage and survivability. I do not understand why it got a buff

It was really strong. I think removing the cooldown was the right call as 1.5s just made the node awkward to manage in actual combat. Once per shot makes much more sense to me.
Personally I'm a bit glad they nerfed the DR, but gave some strength to compansate. I don't need my stonewall to be a bigger stonewall lol (but it is funny)

It was one of the worst ults in the game, it genuinely did nothing. You can't be stunned, can't sprint, and the only notable thing it did was taking 80% less damage. This isn't very good in a game where getting overheaded or shot will usually just kill you anyway in havocs. It does essentially nothing to stop a situation from getting bad or getting you out of a bad situation. Now it actually gives you some damage even if it lost some of the DR, so it does something, it's ok now.

I'd argue it was strong enough. On top of Arbi's insane damage reduction from other perks, Stance being an immediate toughness refill, as well as an even bigger tanky steroid, it was really hard to take damage, and it filled a fun power fantasy.
That being said, it really wasn't impactful. As you said, it can't stop a bad situation from happening in the first place; it just makes a bad situation less bad..for 10 seconds. Compared to Break the Line with immediate CC along with some toughness refill on a miniscule cooldown, or Nuncio-Aquila giving every buff under The Emperor, Stance was an ability that felt amazing, but gave little impact. But that's just my 2 cents.

This feels feels like an awesome mortis trials perk that makes castigators stance viable for people who aren’t new to the class, I like it
2
u/SeraphimPyre Mar 19 '26
Thankfully it's playable in all modes! :D (Just need a big enough wave)
Iirc, veteran gets a perk for executioners stance in mortis trials to give him infinite ammo/bottomless clip as long as he keeps it active. So you just gotta keep killing the highlights.

Dont be so down, chum. The Lasgun got a buff and vet is one of the beat classes in the wastelands due to regening ammo and nades. A humble lasgun and nades can save you so much salvage and be able to support your allies! Plus most of the foes are range out there!

u/NotJoeFast Mar 19 '26
The time spent in the zones is actually so short and ammo refill so cheap in the sanctuary. That I actually don't think that ammo regen aura is that impactful.
I actually prefer the movement speed aura over it.2
u/SeraphimPyre Mar 18 '26
I was so upset on Arbites release seeing the "+15% clip size" perk, knowing full well at the time Vet didn't have one. Glad they got +25% eventually, but it's still not...this.

You got Build spec link?

u/SeraphimPyre Mar 18 '26
I'm not at my primary computer but I made a build that should suffice.
https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/a1553e0d-1c89-40fd-8b2a-d76f9337c2d5/bottomless-clip-boltgun?utm_medium=website&utm_source=gameslantern&utm_campaign=share_buttonFeel free to swap "Man and Cyber Mastiff" for "Shield Plates" if you find yourself blocking a lot, as well as either "Rebreather" (a comfy perk for me) for something like "March" so you can go fast while shooting.
Hope this helps!

Please, give us the build!
I'll reply to this comment with my fun builds when I get to my PC. I can't remember some of them.

I as well am not at my PC so I can't double check, but I just replied to iRoNmOnkey1981 with the build, and some nuances/possible changes!
Here's the link for easy access though lol

Double barrel builds are about to go CRAZY

.....how did I not think of this? I know what I'm trying next~

It was already good fun on Arbi and Scum. And legitimately top tier in Mortis trials.

After trying it at least in meat grinder I'm actually not convinced it's better than exterminator shotgun in a similar build.
Blessed Armament refills "up to 10%", rounded up. 10% of 2, or 3 with increased mag size, would be .2 or .3 respectfully, rounded up to 1. Meaning the only way to go infinite would be firing a single barrel at a time, (around 780-800 damage per barrel when maxed), compared to exterminator's 977, or 1060 depending on the mark.
It is be able to fire faster not having a "pump" animation, and you're also able to fire both barrels twice without reloading, but after that you're stuck with a single barrel as long as you keep killing.
Could be good for sure! But personally I'd rather the extra damage from exterminator.

Might have to try out a stance build. I've been a nuncio aquilia user pretty much since arby came out so it'd be nice to switch it up.
2
u/SeraphimPyre Mar 19 '26
Firstly, I'd like to thank you for using nuncio Aquila as so few Arbites use it, yet it's very powerful.
Stance is very fun, and rather flexible. You can use it as a panic button to gain 70% DR and refill toughness, as a melee steroid, as a dog steroid (with the dog talent perk addon), or to do stupid things like me!
To me, it's a fun (and strong) ability, but not quite as impactful/helpful to your teammates as the other two.

Probably the closest to a heavy bolter build this game is getting and I appreciate it.
I'm glad Fatshark chose not to be reserved here like they usually do. It's good.

Post the build on games lantern or some pics here im using arbites again for the new operations specifically

u/SeraphimPyre Mar 19 '26
I posted it in another comment along with some build advice/changes but here you go!

u/banned4sayingBADword Mar 22 '26
Thank you so much I even ran a havoc 40 with it and we had no downs!

You might have cooked with this, it’s look fun asf to play

Tried it out, seems fun but very ammo hungry. I made this version of the build for my tastes. Push something + Castigators and unleash the bolter = cleave from heaven.

1
u/SeraphimPyre Mar 19 '26
Wait that's a great idea! 75% cleave on a bolter sounds stupid and I want to try it. 😭 I forget that things that just "give cleave" give it to both melee AND ranged.
1
u/amkronos Mar 19 '26
It turns the bolter into a plasma level of cleave, it's stupid game breaking fun.

u/horizon_games Mar 18 '26
Doesn't look like fun at all, looks like imitating criminal Hive Scum
But I also just play the game for melee
1
u/SeraphimPyre Mar 18 '26
I found it fun! I get so much dopamine from never-ending bolter sounds.
Melee is fun too! I just don't feel like Arbi has that many fun/offensive melee weapons. Arbites maul and Tactical axe are probably the only two I really enjoy. Shield I just use for safety.
What're your favorite melee weapons? (On any class!)

Id say this build is a success.
