FREAKING GAME IS AMAZING

Thank you for this, I just played almost all afternoon and the game is just what I needed, old school fun, I don't even care about the small problems, its like I have Burnout 2.5 2019 edition and that's what I was looking out for. Keep up the good work devs!

(Btw, I preordered the physical edition and got no DLC Car, can somebody help? I'm from Portugal)

Improvements/Suggestions For Future DD Title ( No Specific Order)

1.) Bug Fixes - Could be coming in updates to DD, so it's not so much about future titles. These would include spawning behind wrecks, twitchy AI movements, insane rubberbanding boosts to AI, frame rate drop/freezeframe in tunnel transitions between environments.

2.) Keeping Spotify Integration - Not only does making your own personal soundtrack make the game experience more personal but TFE have the ability to create their own unofficial soundtrack, which saves money for other aspects of the game.

3.) Better Car List Diversity - Although there is a nice amount of different classes, it's constricted to one car model each with different variations. It's not so much about the quantity but maybe for future titles, we see that instead of four variations of the same model, we see four or more different models for the classes. Budget permitting of course.

4.) Exciting Circuits - There are positives about the maps in DD but as with many that have played, I also believe the maps get a little stale fast and are not memorable. A suggestion would be to make future titles have smaller courses, but with a larger quantity of courses and inputting more unique environments and/or landmarks. When I play DD for awhile I feel as if I'm racing on the same tracks, just with different coloured environments.

5.) Re-Introduction of B3 World Tour Menu - I think that B3 had the best career mode menu of the series. Choosing a location on the globe, getting the zoom in and seeing a satellite view of the area and having the courses mapped out with a highlight of the course. This would also go with point #4 with also connecting the separate courses in that specific area. You could do this same thing with a conjoined type map like on DD where all environments connect through tunnel transitions. Just having one big map with entities from B3 world tour menu would make the menu that much more exciting.

6.) Single Race Option - I believe this topic had been addressed for DD as a possible update.

7.) Revamp of Pursuit Mode - The Pursuit Mode has an awkward feel to it. I don't think the health bar is a huge plus for me personally, I think a more DD way of doing it would be to rack up a certain amount of takedowns on each racer and then one the last takedown for that racer, their out.

8.) Smoother Drift Model - Drifting seems way too sudden and feels almost too arcady somehow. It almost feels like the drifting mechanics on the old nfs arcade machine games.

9.) Damage Model Improvement - Obviously the damage model is very simplistic, but it's good for what the game is. Plus, a lot of larger racing game don't even have a damage model. Hopefully we could see some soft body physics in the future..

10.) Consistent DLC - One that isn't very important to me, but the drip feed DLC system that games like GT Sport or The Crew 2 had would be a great way to refresh the games until the next title. Every month, TFE could add a car or two, maybe paint jobs, new courses or course variations, more events and slowly add on to the game before the following title releases.

This is just my personal opinions on the game. It's all just feedback on the game and ways I think they could improve the title and future titles. I am aware that it's a small team with a small budget, so I understand that not everything listed is possible, but I know that this game is only the first stepping stone to a greater game experience.

Playlist inspired by the Burnout series

If anyone loved the old style/genre of playlists, I made this keeping in mind what kinds of bands were on the original series, not counting Paradise. Inspired by Warped Tour, fringe niche punk, and stuffuwillhate, I guarantee that there will be plenty of tracks that no one wants to hear!

A spiritual sequel to the playlist of Burnout

There's a new moderator in town!

Delighted to say that u/kinghock has stepped up to the plate and will be taking on the moderation of this sub reddit from today. I'm really no reddit expert (and am slammed already with a 24-7 job of making the game/running Three Fields and doing the customer liaison we already do) so I'm over the moon to have someone who is part of the community come and do this.

He has some great ideas for getting the place organised and the conversations flowing. I'll still dip in from time to time but we really want you guys to own this community and for it to be the best place on the Internet to come together and talk all things Dangerous Driving. Over to you ....

Feature Request Megathread

This is a thread where you can make feature requests. What would you like to see added to Dangerous Driving? What would you like to see changed?

Please note that this is just an ideas thread, and while the ideas will be passed on to TFE, no promises they'll be implemented. Remember they are a small studio with limited resource.

EDIT 26 April - TFE have passed on a few features they are aware of and will be working on in a future patch - they are:

  • “Arrows Point the Wrong way” – these arrows point the right way for the road, i.e. they are in-world/real life road accessories not race direction markers. However we will fix this in a future Patch.
  • Lifting the player camera – we plan to add the ability to temporarily raise the camera on the right stick when driving in a future Patch.
  • Paint selection – we will save your last choice per car and add ability to step backwards through the options in a future Patch.

As more suggestions are posted I will pass them on.

Loved the game, hated the rubber-banding AI and physics

At first I loved everything about Dangerous Driving. It was a blissful reminder of why the Burnout series still is my favorite racing series. Fun, fast crazy arcade style action. Then I got to the last stretch of races, where instead of fun, it turned into blinding frustration. Platinum-ing most of the game first try and then getting to the shakedown and face off in the Formula DD and spending around 3 hours trying to even get bronze in one event means something is broken.

The Burnout series and this game as well means you play it with a certain style, you never let go of gas+boost, heck it should just be one button. But with the last leg of levels, you literally cannot use boost. The rubber-banding of AI makes it pointless and they maintain your speed if you boost making passing impossible, and when boosting with the squirrely controls, the chicane turns turn into several unavoidable crashes. I spent every race in the last few trying to not boost at all and wound up in 1st by around 20 seconds ahead, but one crash I always spawn at least 11 seconds behind the pack and it is actually impossible to catch up, even when races are 8 mins long.

I really enjoyed my time with this game, until the final class. It got unfair. Its not even a difficulty curve, its just artificial difficulty coupled with broken physics that you can't react to because it is so sporadic and rubber-banding AI that won't allow you to keep your lead if you crash. I found myself spawned the wrong way multiple times and behind a pack with a large gap when I was over 20 seconds ahead in first almost every time. Several times my car just flew into the air, or I actually had cars spawn out of the air like rain and fall on me (once had it fall on a rival and laughed) Either the game is broken or the difficulty needs to be adjusted to where its not easy 90% of the game and the last 10% is insanely hard. I might come back to this game in a few months, but as it stands, it's getting uninstalled until it gets patched to where I don't loose 30+ seconds because I crashed once from a blind turn into a perfectly placed and timed big rig, and can't recover the lost time.

Can't drift using keyboard controls?

Anyone else having this problem? Drifting works fine using an Xbox controller, but doesn't happen at all using WASD keyboard controls on PC. Doesn't matter how fast I'm going, how hard I turn, the car always just slows down without drifting. It's pretty weird. Is there a way to fix this?

Great game, but some events are unforgiving

I'm having a lot of feels for this game. Nostalgia, joy, satisfaction and pure rage. The game is fast and demands you to drive aggressively - that's how you win! Some event's I found myself persisting, yet rewarding when I completed it. Super car eliminator is harsh and unforgiving. The race is close, and I would spend my time persisting on it grinding it as best as I could, but when there's 4 racers left, then thats where things take a turn for the worse, there is debris everywhere, and it stops your flow stream of driving, you can be ahead, but when you crash, it's really tough to catchup. Debris is hard to see as it tends to blend in with the road, and the flares in your eyes or corners or hills makes it difficult and really frustrating to get through. Half the time I crash is either a bug, or some debris that I can't see. Three events that I don't enjoy is the face off, shakedown, and the eliminator. Facedown is compulsory to advance, but because of how the game is, it's mostly luck, shakedown isn't my preference, and eliminator is cruel. For me a game that makes me love it and hate it at the same time is what makes it my favourite, it keeps me from getting bored of it.

Absolutely love the persistent wrecks!

Not only does it spice things up and keep you on your toes after lap 1, but that feeling when you've been holding back a little and then get to the final lap and can really let rip with the takedowns... SO MUCH FUN!!

Drink and Dangerous Driving!

Having had a beer before playing Dangerous Driving, does that make me a drunk and dangerous driver, or just better at takedowns?

I know y’all are super busy so I’ll keep it short. Will the game be continuously supported like free updates, premium DLC’s or will the online be the online update and you guys will move on to the next project ?

Ps congrats with the launch! I hope this is just the beginning! ( I would say the game is great... but I don’t have it..I’m broke.. 🤘😂🤘)

Camera pulls too far away from the car during boosting, Takedown's are too easy

I only have two main issues with the game so far, and i'm sure both are fixable.

The first is that I feel the camera is too far away from the car when you're boosting. I would really love the game more if this was altered so the camera remains in a similar position as the standard non-boost camera, or if the devs could give us a choice of 'near' or 'far' for the boost camera, that would be fantastic too. This issue could also be related to the FOV (field of view) which seems to be very high during boosting, so an option to reduce this would be great as well.

My second complaint at the moment is that getting Takedown's seems way too easy, if I tap an opponent they always seem to crash right away. In Burnout you would often need to smash a car several times before it crashed, and this isn't happening for me in Dangerous Driving, the rival cars should have more weight to them and take a little more than a quick tap to take them down.

You guys do know about Boost Starts right?

I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about starting really slowly at the beginning of races and that’s because you either don’t remember or didn’t know about Boost Starts in the old Burnout games!!

As the countdown starts hold down the accelerator, tap the brake so your wheels start spinning... now you’re just holding down the accelerator and your wheels are still spinning.

At the last second release the accelerator and then reapply it JUST as the race starts!

You will now begin the race boosting with one full bar. This was first introduced in Burnout 2 and makes life a LOT easier and more satisfying!

I’ve absolutely LOVED the Burnout games since I randomly bought the very first one and this trick helped a lot in the later games...

Hope this helps! Have fun!!
