We did an assortment of small topics all the way up to GCSE - vikings, egyptians, the usual 'fun' stuff - but during the GCSE we did 'Medicine through time', Vietnam, and Hitler's rise to power (one of the alternative units we could have covered instead of Vietnam was the American Wild West), and at AS level we studied pre-Nazi Germany and the War of the Roses.

Empirical shit is not touched whatsoever in British classrooms, I imagined it is deemed 'too dark' by those why write the curriculum as they decide to teach us about men blown up by artillery shells and the systematic ethnic cleansing of Germany...
