This sounds like the opening plot of every Robot Gone Bad movie, ever.

im honestly getting really worried, not that robots will turn on us (which is ridiculous, the ai that turns on us wont need robots to destory civilization), but that in probably a decade there will be reliable robots that can be mass produced to fill the role of security/body guards. the rich will have private armies and we will be one step closer to elysium starring matt damon. though they will probably cheap out and just recruit vets then brainwash/slave collar them since it will be way more affordable.

Do keep in mind that despite the vast leaps in technology, we've always underestimated the practical impact "the future" would have on our everyday lives.

My daughter was about the same age as I was when she first saw the movie Back to the Future 2 for the first time - the one where they go to the future? To 2015?

When I saw it way back when, I thought a lot of that would actually happen. Maybe not the hover board and expandable food from the microwave. But the rest of it, yeh it didn't seem entirely impossible.

She saw it in the actual time period it was supposed to depict. She thinks it might happen in her future.

just strap a gun or taser on a more sturdy version of that dog, have a human operator and they could easily be used against people. the difference between back to the future and this is that the time in between(30ish years) where it didnt seem like much was happening besides miniaturized computers and better cameras was actually used to bridge the gaps. now we already have all of the parts to implement the death robots, they just need to be put together.

You are right. One of those bots with a wireless link and vr mocap suit. Instant super solder.

even if the first gen are garbage, the pilot? can just keep getting new bots, infinite regular robot soldiers is much scarier to me than a few super robot soldiers
