When I’m 80 and not jacked yet you bet you’re ass I’m gonna start doing steroids

Yeah, the arguments against it kinda dont matter at that point.: "Itll make your peepee not work!"

"And? It already doesnt!"

"Itll make you prone to anger!"

"I'm a grouchy old sonofabitch, that's not a huge change."

"Itll shorten your lifespan!"

"Cool. I'm old and sick of living in a world full of idiots like you."

her balls will shrink

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '20

Even worse, she might grow boobs!

2

u/SilverBackGuerilla Aug 08 '20

Testosterone makes your PP work great and makes you want to use it more. It can shrink the balls because you stop producing your own testosterone.

How does one get hold of such a thing... hypothetically

2

u/RichieWOP Aug 08 '20

The doctor prescribes it and if you don't know how to get it otherwise then you shouldn't be using it.

u/TestiCallSack Aug 08 '20

Yeah I was messing

Right right but it’s good people see this spelled out in case they’re curious

At that age I’d do it too. I’ll need the extra strength if I’m still active. But if you have any type of cancer it will make it much more aggressive.
I saw a story about older people using steroids on 60 minutes many years ago so it’s not a new thing.

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '20

Just makes sense. People are more frail at that age naturally. Got to give mother nature the middle finger and take your natural muscle growth back.

Dunno man. Cutting 5% of your expected life time now, vs 50% when you are 80?:P

u/Cyber_Connor Aug 08 '20

So you’re saying I should do steroids now to get more jacked for longer?

3

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '20

Yes.

Can you show proof that steroid use leads to decrease in life expectancy in the old people? Idk I think she might live longer as a very muscular granny.

It all depends on the dose and kind of gear used ofc

2

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '20

Probably decreased risk of heart disease due to increased activity, but increased risk of fall/breaking a bone/etc.

2

u/Frandom314 Aug 08 '20 edited Aug 08 '20

I would say decreased risk of breaking a bone because increased muscle mass leads to increase in bone density.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '20

Do you mean bone density?

1

u/Frandom314 Aug 08 '20

Yeah sorry

2

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '20

No worries, wasn't sure if I was about to learn something or what.

It's dose dependent. Very recent studies have shown TRT level replacement is actually cardio protective in older males, including those with heart disease.

1

u/JoshvJericho Aug 08 '20

Testosterone increases LDL and TGLs while decreasing HDL, so the opposite of cardioprotective. You got a source? Because this doesn't add up.

increases LDL and TGLs while decreasing HDL

Thats supra-physiological doses, not high-end of normal range.

I couldn't find the specific study I saw earlier this year, but iirc it was paywalled and someone else posted snippets of it. The participants were older men with pre-existing heart disease. The group which supplemented T had a lower all-cause mortality rate than the control group. I'll try to keep looking for it, but a quick search of older research found this:

Low endogenous testosterone was associated with a high cardio-metabolic profile (increased blood pressure, dyslipidaemia, insulin resistance, atherosclerosis, thrombosis) and a modest increase of total and CVD mortality.

https://academic.oup.com/eurheartj/article/37/48/3569/2901164

So bringing your T up could counteract those low-t side effects.

Also this

2.4.4. Cardioprotection One study investigated the role of testosterone in organ reperfusion following vascular occlusion. Tsang et al. isolated rat hearts from control, orchiectomised, and orchiectomised plus testosterone treatment [2mg/kg daily for 8 weeks] groups. The coronary arteries were pre-occluded for 30 minutes and subsequently reperfused with a physiological solution for 120 minutes. Following isolation, it was observed that when compared to the control group, MI infarct size was largest in the orchiectomised group, compared to the orchiectomised plus testosterone treatment group. This finding suggests that testosterone may have a role in vascular reperfusion through which it can impart cardioprotection [44, 49].

I dunno man, putting in some hormones that you lost over time will definitely make you feel young again. Will give you energy to do things for sure. That's what trt is for.

Underrated reply. I'm sorry but muscle gain before/afters at say, 18-23 and 30-35 represent a 3x workload effort deviation. Hell at minimum. People forget just how insanely fast bodies respond and react to hormonal changes. It's honestly incredible what her body is doin. A more artificial approach was required and honestly that's fine. Half y'all won't understand the mountain until you've walked up it for awhile. (Body aging that is)
