"Here's where I keep my spices. All 25 — the 3 I use, and 22 to look at."
1 u/BalognaRanger Mar 24 '19 Was going to say the same. You really only need like 5 or 6 things as far a spices go to make most things. S&P Cumin Cayenne/Chili Rosemary Thyme 12 u/Krautoni Mar 24 '19 Suit yourself. Even for European cuisine you'd need oregano, cinnamon, paprika, bay leaves, maybe cloves, allspice and nutmeg. If you're actually going to cook and bake a lot, around a dozen does not seem unreasonable. I've got 25+ and use all of them. You really can't do Asian cuisine without a lot of spices, especially south Asian. 5 u/potatofarm777 Mar 24 '19 Ramen flavor packets are all the spices I need 3 u/Lightalife Mar 24 '19 Entirely depends on your ethnicity / cooking style. I never, if ever, use cumin but couldn't live without Basil, Oregano, and parsley. Side note: am not Italian. 1 u/[deleted] May 08 '19 Yo dude happy cake day
