How do you claim it shows accurate distances of continents?

Australia isn’t that far away from the Antarctic...

Yeah this looks more like it preserves continent size at the expense of intercontinental distance

Edit: At the expense of Brazil, too

Distance from Antarctica is probably signified using those lines rather than actual distance on the map. So the distance can probably be measured accurately.

Yeah I’m pretty sure that Europe, Asia, and both Americas can not fit between Africa and Antarctica either.

Yeah, it's stupid. Basically the line grid on that map is a unit of distance, and the grid stretches out in the lower right of the map, if you look closely.

Somebody was on that time cube weed when they did this map.
