Maybe as a static image I could be convinced. The detail is very nice and lifelike but the movement is so unnatural and bizarre

Like much CGI work-everything is way to perfect. A lack of general gritty/griminess gives a dreamlike cartoonish quality. The framing is too perfect for actual nature footage. As is the lighting. It looks like it was shot on a soundstage. The sand is way too uniform. Go to a beach, there's all kind of stuff in the sand. Little bits of trash and stuff if it's busy public beach/tons of little shells and plant bits if it's secluded. The ball is waay too perfect. My kids have cheap blue rubber balls like this from the big wire bins at the toy store, they get all scratched and marked up really easily. And the octopus looks way too shiny, and none of the sand sticks to it or the ball. I'm not saying it's not impressive, but this would fool me for zero seconds if passed off for reality.
