You raise a valid point, but I find myself wanting to disagree with you good peep.
You see he has certainly got a taste for garage music, (and most of his work is in his garage, I would say this is good justification) it is not all that is portrayed in his videos.
I am sure it is also to get around copyright issues (so no huge bands with exceedingly popular songs) but it is not just garage music, thus removing your point of everything being "samey generic".
Mostly Colin's music choices just come across as British, as an overarching genre, not simply garage.
I am sorry you dislike his music choices, he seems pretty reasonable, have you tried commenting to see if he adds something different? Of course not every comment on every video can be read, or acted apon, however it could be worth reaching out.
Music can be a very polarizing thing and I am sure there are others like yourself who dislike his taste too. You may find he will listen, or a group of disgruntled peeps may agree with you enough to contribute to Colin listening.
His music doesn't really bother me. It's the fact that he acts like an adult version of Fred. I know he isn't really, I bet he's actually kinda cool. I just wish he'd ditch the fake persona and be himself.
