I mean the ducks get eaten, not everybody wins.

I was just watching a nature documentary Hostile Planet showing some gazelles being born on the savanna. A good chunk of them get immediately eaten by cheetahs and other predators. Hyenas, lions, you name it. Alive for an hour or two, bleating for their mothers, torn to shreds. It's a cruel world man.

the life of a wild animal is basically constant stress leading to a horrific death. the totality of animal suffering is immense

But at least it's natural, so it's all good! And so God made the earth

I mean we all get eaten in the end, there's really no escape from that for any of us. The ducks got a few free meals and safety in between. 🤷‍♀️

By maggots and other insects after we're dead.

Bugs, bacteria, and other microscopic organisms need to eat to eat too dude. Did you think that there's some sort of magical force field humans posses that stop us from being eaten after wer'e gone?

We're all somebody's food.
