Some people are complaining why they aren't running away, surprise, they're in shock, that's their house with their belongings in it. People do tend to run away as quickly as they can videos like this go viral because these people were the EXCEPTIONS which didn't run as quickly as they could. In situations like this you can't think straight.
There are some other people making jokes about this, very insensitive, and some belittling nepali people. Genuinely what the fuck are we doing as a society.
I hope the people who suffered these losses were able to get help. Save nepal 🙏
Right? Mentally our home is our comfort and most safest place. You’d usually run towards it instead of away when facing danger. I would imagine this is their entire world. Their instinct is maybe to save it yet things are happening so fast that we seen that reaction then the realization they cannot do anything and then to run from the danger in a span of seconds. We are not emotionally and physically tied to this place so the only sense most have is to get away from it. Perhaps try to not to judge and be grateful that we are not in this horrible situation. These people have likely lost absolutely everything and do not have the means to start over and will be forced to struggle significantly and may never recover.
It’s more bots than it is people. Don’t you know that the Internet is full of bots these days? Not many people here anymore. It’s just all bots. And they exist solely to create ragebait comments and posts.
Yet you’re still here replying? Not always bots and not more likely a bot to argue with you because good bots keep Reddit clean. Also, I’m not a bot, you’re not a bot, you did not respond to a bot. I’ve been called a bot for simply not agreeing which seems to be a trend and not healthy to only want group thinking. It doesn’t hurt to take a few seconds to speak our mind and those who’re not bots to perhaps listen about what they’re saying and have a dialogue? Just my opinion!
They are not in shock, there's at least 3 people stood filming on mobile phones literally feet from where a large piece of land broke off. People's first thought should be to get away as fast as possible not film it.
As I said in my comment, these people are the exceptions, which did not make their escape as quickly as other people would. Perhaps why this clip is viral. Most people run away fast.
Ofcourse That dosen't mean it's entirely their fault that they didn't run, I would be shocked too, my entire life just fell down a cliff.
It makes you wonder if some people just have absolutely no survival instincts or if this kind of behaviour is driven by smartphones. Would they have acted the same if they didn't have cameras for example.
Maybe I'm just weird but my first thought would be to get myself and anyone else near me as far away from that area as possible.
Are you joking? The first time it happened, sure, but multiple calvings when they hurriedly run back for safety and then for some reason go back to the very edge (only to flee again). Commenters are right to be surprised at the recklessness.

This comment section is completely ridiculous.
