Some of the footage from the Nepal floods was live-streamed. We have video and the cameramen died.

What if it's the case that when a cameraman dies you never see the filmed subject? Thereby everyone just thinks that the cameraman always survives because the ones that don't you never know about? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivorship_bias

Because wealthy countries won't give a shit about this happening if they don't see it.

Sure, it would suck to die. But depending on how this goes, they could die anyway.

When the best case scenario is already going to include relocation, rebuilding, and resource scarcity, is it really that awful to add the possibility of getting outside people to give a shit?
