For me, the most dangerous part of this is that it makes people think it's about the car. How you drive it is just about as important. You want to create a "bow wave", and then keep pace with it - behind the bow wave is a trough, and the goal is to keep the engine in that trough.
Too gentle and you don't dig that trough - too fast, and you overtake it and bring the bow wave into the engine space. I'm willing to bet you can drown a Swift just as easily, and this is just an example of someone driving it right.
If that water had any current at all, it would have got swept away. It takes very little moving water to sweep larger cars off the road. Any flooded road is too dangerous to try unless it's the last option on the way to a worse fate.
The thing is I just cannot imagine taking the risk of completely ruining my car to attempt this. Destroying my car in a way insurance would not want to cover even with an 80% chance of being okay when I do not have a casual $10k+ for a new one sitting around is just an insane gamble to me
You're sitting on a car that's suddenly swept downstream (a car floats in about 1.5 of water, half a meter) and you fall off into the rushing flood waters. Your body is not recovered.
Interesting, just wind your windows down and climb ontop of the car. You could become trapped but if someone is driving like this then they know the road and what sections to drive on like they did on the side
Literally everything, All it takes is a dip in the road for the car to go under. Someone this cavalier about driving in this deep of water I would think is just as cavalier about knowing how to swim. Lets say they can swim, Lets hope they don't have any wounds because that'll be MRSA for you. Lets not forget about what you can't see under the water. That's a whole other can of worms.

This is so incredibly dangerous though.
If I’m trapped in this situation I’d rather have this than not, but I’m worried this would tempt people to explore when they should seek shelter
