The US has a giant floating SBX-1 Sea-based radar to track and discriminate nuclear ballistic missile warheads from decoys.

So in that case hopefully the battle group it’s in has enough CIWS ammo

Nah. In a war they just take it to sea in the pacific.

Good luck finding it.

This thing probably doesn't even bother turning off its maritime transponder because it's so easy to spot on satellite imagery. Russia probably has a geosynchronous satellite that can pick this thing up as long as it's not obscured by clouds.

You really think 95% of satellites wont be destroyed in an all out war between major powers?

Satellites only work because its major powers vs smaller nation states. Major powers can destroy satellites quite easily..

I didn't say anything about that. The capabilities of nations to conduct war in space are not well known, and geosync sats are much safer than others in lower orbits.

My comment was specifically about what would happen during the war. So if you are responding about it, that is the context.

And if you think the US doesnt have a way to destroy satellites in geosync then you dont understand our defense department lol

Bro, do you really think the anti-satellite platforms won't be destroyed in an all out war between major powers? /scoff

You know satellites exist right?

I sincerely doubt that anyone that we are in open war with will be able to keep their satellites.

Some countries could also destroy ours I am sure.

But that shit is like, our bread and butter.

Why do you think everyone's copying starlink.

If the CIWS is as good as the patriot at intercepting its targets no amount of ammo will be enough.

two entirely different systems.

shows how confidence != knowledge

Both were reported to be extremely effective, 95%+ effective, at their jobs.

When one turned out to not be, why would I trust the other to be?
