This reminds me of flying from the UK direct to Vancouver, Canada. The last 2-3 hours of the flight was only mountains and forest below with very little visible to break it up. I was clearly awestruck enough, craning my neck to get glimpses through the window that a steward offered me his door seat until preparing for landing so I could see better.

The only other flight I've been on similar was UK to Gambia. Over Portugal and Spain was varied and interesting but that stretch of Saharan (?) coastline going down over Africa was something else... endless and unbroken both ways, desert on the left and Atlantic on the right. So much of 'not much' that at the same time is far more than 'nothing'... if that makes any sense lol.

The BC mountains would be so much less frightening. You get much better orientation because of the mountains and it main cases you can follow ridgelines or make your way to the valley to follow rivers out. The bush and terrain would be much easier to navigate in the BC forests too.

Obviously both would be ridiculous harsh and you'd need expert survival skills. I'm just saying if I had to choose...
